Hideous in Person!!!
The Orchid Row Ruana in brown does not look like geo print. I think it’s because the browns and tans are too close in color. They are not as light in person as the picture makes them seem. Since it’s a ruana it doesn’t have much shape. When it drapes and folds in places, colors get folded over. There’s not enough contrasting color, the folds block the geo print. You don’t notice anything, but a brown shapeless blob.Neither my spouse nor myself liked how this looked when I wore it. I love wraps, ponchos, oversized sweaters. My dislike for this is not because I’m not used to the style. My dislike for this is that it is unattractive. It looks like I’m trying to insult the Mexican culture by wearing a brown poncho. It looked offensive. If you are thinking of getting this, do not get this in brown. It is not extremely soft where you can forgive it for being hideous. It had a slight manufacturing/packaging smell when I got it. The smell did wash out, but you will want to wash it before wearing. I had higher hopes for this and was disappointed.

Color not as vibrant
Basically an open poncho; no need for your head to aim for the open circular hole. Great for those who stylize their hair or put gel/spray products on it, or just got out of shower.Has a nice neck groove/indentation as a central point.Wraps around upper body easilyMaterial is thin, but can be layered over each other. Great for snuggling up in when watching streaming video at home, or take to a movie theater. Not one to take out into the snowy mountains if you a plain t-shirt under it as it's thinner than a light sweaterRuana is oversized, span a width of a queen size bed. Unless wrapped tight, you have full motion of your arms. Wouldn't wear while cooking or eating something messy for example as the cloth does flow while moving, don't want it to snag onto something.Stitching is very good. No loose threadsColor is darker and muted compared to what's shown on product pageMaterial is a bit itchy on bare skin, especially around the neck areaOverall, very good product to keep warm in a semi cold indoor or enclosed (in car) environment, has some drawbacks like the material and color advertised

Not Attractive, But Functional
This is an ugly, but functional ruana. I received the brown color, and it looks nothing like the picture on Amazon. It is a dark, muted brown, and you can barely see the blocks of color. Worn on bare skin, it's itchy. I actually thought it might have some wool in it, which I can't tolerate. But as long as I'm wearing long sleeves, it's fine and provides an extra bit of warmth when I'm sitting at the computer. I would never in a million years wear it in public, as it reminds me of something you might throw on a horse in a barn.

I love it. Looks great, very comfy.
I have several Ruanas, I love them. But this one is hands down my favorite. It is super soft, looks really nice, and is great to keep off the chill outside or in. These are great for tossing over yourself and a backpack. They go one and off super fast. Great for sitting outside drinking coffee in the morning, taking to the freezing movie theater, taking a walk, shopping, or going to work. Some of my others are heavy and scratchy. This is soft and you can machine wash it.

Good, creative stitching
I like the way this hangs and the pattern. It is too thin for windy days and hard to keep wrapped, but nice for calm spring/Fall like weather. Too itchy for my bare skin, but great for over a dress or outfit that you don’t want wrinkled by a tight coat. Creative but strong stitching pattern. Has an artistic look in my opinion. The loose fit is great for those days you just don’t feel like sliding your arms into a coat or sweater. Also great to wrap up in on the couch on a cool evening.

Warm and very attractive
This poncho-style shawl (I didn't know the term "Ruana") arrived two days ago, and I wore it immediately to Church. It was "formal" enough for that venue, but casual enough for my style of dress. It is VERY warm, and the pattern in large brown and tan "blocks" is extremely attractive. I am sure I will use this a lot, and it will be useful during the chill mornings and brisk evenings of my of my "high desert" locale here in New Mexico.

Cute with jeans. Stays in place well.
This is great to keep by the door to grab when the dog quickly needs to go out. It looks adorable with jeans. My husband is always moaning that I wear sweatshirts all winter; this provides a nice change and he actually noticed and complimented me. It's also good to wrap around me while I'm crocheting, because my hands are still free. I removed one star because it's just not as warm as I'd like it to be. Overall: recommend.

Beautiful wrap
I really like this wrap. It’s light weight but warm. It feels like a lightweight wool, but it’s poly/acrylic. The edges are done in a nice overcast embroidery stitch, which gives it a finished look. This is the perfect item to wrap yourself up in on chilly evenings at home, or to throw on for a trip to the store, etc. I am a size 2X and it covers me well and wraps in the front, so it’s a generous size. I highly recommend.
