It really worked well for the time it was useful. While I love the adaptability, I hate how far out the adapter tips make the wires come out of the charging port. In fact, the nature of this wire extending outwards instead of sideways was part of the reason I don't have a working laptop anymore. I tripped over the wired and it bent the tip inside my port damaging the port inside my laptop completely. I doubt this would have been as much of a disaster if the tips were more strongly attached and angled sideways. Not only that, but making an easily detachable cord from adapter could also help mitigate problems if something like a cord trip happens.

Buyer beware
Beware if you buy this charger hoping to get something quick and cheap. I'd definitely spring on a more expensive charger that's specific to your laptop. My main complain about this charger is the adapter head system for the plugs: it's flimsy and poorly constructed. If you have any pressure on the end at all (and you will because the cable is very short), it's going to bend the plug and eventually stop making contact. After just a few days use the head for my laptop was shorting and making all sorts of lovely electrical noises. On top of that, the plug seems to get really hot for some reason (my last charger never had this problem, and I know I'm using the correct voltage).I'm going to keep begrudgingly using this because I need a charger. I'm probably just going to cut off the plug and splice on the longer and less awkward cable from my broken charger. The actual brick itself seems all right, but I'm not sure if I would trust that USB port.

Not truly a "universal" charger - doesn't work with my HP laptops
Caveat Emptor. We bought 8 of these. Seemed like a good deal, it wasn't.Although the seller claims these are "universal", the sad fact remains that it won't work with most modern HP laptops (such as DV7 series), even though the claim is made in the headline "Universal Laptop AC Power Supply for IBM DELL HP/Compaq SAMSUNG SONY..."Now the seller demands that I pay a 15% restocking fee to return them, while at the same time saying in every email: "We take our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee very seriously and hope you are completely happy with your purchase"Well I'm not. The product claim was misleading, the return policy favors the seller, not the buyer.

It works
Good news: The product provides the power needed at various voltage levels . It includes a USB slot on the side of the unit so you can plug in a charger at the same time (haven't yet used that feature). Not so good news: It sounds like a constantly running fan. The cable from the unit to the computer kinks easily and does not seem extremely durable.Overall: It's an "okay" product and might be handy to have around in case you need to share with guests or classmates who forget to bring their power supply.

My review speaks for itself
It arrived on the 10th. Opened it on the 19th.It is now the 22nd and it has stopped working completely. The light won't turn on. The fans don't turn on.Its just dead.4 days of minimal use and it died?Unsatisfied. Will update if anything changes.UPDATE: 5 minutes ago I got a new charger in the mail from MTOP with a new charger. As soon as they were made aware of the issue they must have sent one out.Top notch customer service.Thank you.

The one power adapter that will last !
The unit feels quite solidly built and operates quietly without any annoying humming noise. The interchangeable head (the interchangeable connector to my laptop) is idiot-proof, unlike some other units which use two little flimsy prongs. Those using the two prongs can get mixed up accidentally and the polarity reversed. Besides, the little prongs can get bent or ruined otherwise with too many switching back and forth of the connectors. This unit's snap-on connector has really improved on that and will likely last forever.

Can't Stand the Noise
I bought this power supply to replace the O.E.M. Supply for my Sony Vaio. I saw another one that I thought I would like better and was going to cancel the order for this one, but I was a bit too late. At first I thought no biggie I can use 2, one to stay at home and this one in my laptop bag to go to work with.First thing I noticed was it had a fan that is very audible in a quiet room, or even in one that is not so quiet because it is always in close proximity to the computer. I found my self putting it on something soft like a towel instead of on a hard table top because the sound vibrated and amplified through anything solid. I tried to adapt and get use to it. Now it is a little older and the fan for the first 5 min or so is unusually loud as I guess the bearings or brushes in the fan have aged, and before it revs up to top speed it is absolutely annoying as the sound increases by many decibels. It is still supplying power, but the fan is obviously degrading over time. It has been nice having 2 power supply s, but I decided I can't live with the noise. The other one I bought is much better, I have had it for the same amount of time, its quieter, does not generate much heat, has a right angle plug at the laptop that I like, and cost half of what this one does! If you need a PS for a Sony, and don't need all of the universal plugs.Check it out ASIN: B005552UBC

Works Fine
I repair computers and often get laptops without power supplies. This runs them everytime. No brand so far hasn't been able to run off it.

Je l'ai acheté pour mon Dell Vostro, et il n'y a pas le bon connecteur. Il va falloir que j'achète un connecteur séparément.

It is a very basic power supply and it works. Cheaply made but it is a cheap price. Can't complain.
