I got the 20 Lb quantity. It came in a square box with a bag inside that was bread twist tied closed. I used my carbon filtered water from my sink and all my stainles kitchen stuff to rinse and dry in the oven at 300F. Pour the stuff out of the bag ouside and hold yer breath or wear a mask as a black cloud of carbon will invelope your face while you pour, other than that it tastes ok. Makes a hissing noise when wet.Im going to use it to replace the carbon in my IQair filter when it needs it.Makes a mess but washes off with soap no problem.

I used this to refill the carbon filter in my IQ air. Just cut the top of the filter, drain out the old carbon, put this stuff in its place and seal it up with tape or glue. It looks like I should get 3 refills with this one box.

Melts when exposed to any water! Site says to rinse it off first though.......1 star!

Almost does the job

I have used this stuff in the past with much more success. I use it to refill my carbon air filter that sits near the cat litter box. Usually my entire room would smell like clean carbon after a day but this time it just barely removes the litter box smell. I dont really smell litter box which is good but I dont smell the over powering clean carbon smell I love anymore. Maybe this stuff is sized different from the stuff Ive purchased in the past. Perfect for my needs.. I use it to make slow release fertilizer pellets.. perfect for seedlings, potted plants, or in planting rows in the garden... Lazy man's biocharr hehehe. Just soak in a bit of diluted liquid fertilizer for a day and drain and rinse lightly and dry... these little pellets are very pleasing to use for this application. I recommend organic fertilizer if you can get it, but any will do to get it started... then this biocharr will draw in nutrients from nitrogen fixating plants, as well as the air over time, making the soil better and better all by it's self.. makes it's own fertilizer and plants just cozy up to the roots and nurse away.. I would... heh.
