DVD Player does not work
I purchased this DVD player so that I could watch movies from my DVD/Blu-Ray collection on my laptop. However, although the item is advertised as being "plug and play" the DVD player cannot read the discs. There are no instructions for what software I am supposed to use included with the item. My laptop runs on Windows 10 and I tried using several Blu-Ray and DVD playing software while I was trying to get it to work. Ended up returning it. Also, why are half these reviews for a step stool? Seems nefarious to me.

My 4K BRDVD Portable Drive Burner
The first one I received would not work so it was returned and I was sent a second one which worked without any problems. I have used it along with the Printable BR Disc I bought. The disk I have created play on both my 4K and BRDVD players that I own. The video looks great on all my TV's.

Failed to read media
Flimsy construction. Front door won’t close all the way on one side. Worst of all, failed to read many CDs/DVDs/BDs, even clean, new ones without any scratch. Had to return unit. I also thought the cable they provided was too short (e.g., for use with a workstation).

It Worked for a While
This drive worked well for me for about 3.5 months and then it suddenly stopped working.I have a Samsung blu-ray drive that has been thoroughly put through its paces and still works after six years.

Plug And Play (Supply Your Own Software Viewer/Codecs)
No problems. Blu Ray disks work fine with Cyberlink Power DVD 16 software and Windows 10. Only needed the one USB 3.1 cable/port for power and data on HP 17-by0089cl Pavillion laptop. Also worked with the Power Media Player 14 that came with the HP laptop's built in DVD player (software has Blu Ray codecs as well). Longer usb cables would be nice, but I understand the signal loss issues with longer cables.

Worked Out of the Box
When my Apple Super Drive failed, I needed something for my MacBook Air. I had to download a driver, but the drive has worked just fine in MacOS.

Don't waste your money
I have an issue I have a blu ray in it and it won't eject I had the burner for 2 days and not really impressed with it and the other issue I have I think it's due to the usb but it takes about 24hrs to rip a movie I would do your research before buying this Update. I figured out how to open it if anyone runs into this problem to warn you before you do this if a disc gets stuck unplug the burner to the pc so you don't get shocked but in order to open the disc drive on your blu ray burner in case it won't open there's a tiny hole right next to the eject button again make sure it's unhooked before you do this so you don't get shocked but after you unhook it you'll see a tiny hole right next to the eject button, take something thin like a paperclip and put it in the tiny hole and very slightly pull it operand it should work but anyone looking to get a burner I don't recommend this one look for a different one
