I ordered these to make bows for minnie mouse cupcakes. They were too small and i ended up using them as a template to make slightly larger bows which turned out perfect. I cant imagine why anyone would really need to make bows that tiny.

The Item was to small for what I was specting, isntead of drescribing the product as large or small it should give information about the actual size of the bow when made. I bought both the large and the small and they redulted small and smaller.

Yes, they're tiny, but that's basically the point. At this size, making bows is really fiddly work, and these take the hard work out.It still takes a few minutes to smooth edges (I deducted one star, because edges could come out a little cleaner), add appropriate creases, etc., but it makes things A LOT easier.(Bow in photo is the middle size)

I do agree that they make small little bows. In my opinion, only the largest bow in this small set is really useful in cake decorating. The next smaller is fine for a cupcake topper. The tiny one probably has some use, but I haven't found it yet. (A mini-cupcake topper?) Still, I'm glad to have this tool in my arsenal and absolutely do not regret getting it. Bows are pretty, feminine, versatile, and always make a tasteful accent. There is nothing not to like.The problem is that the stated measurements, which you might assume are the size of the finished bow, are actually about half the size since you cut the loop flat and then fold it over halfway. But that is the only problem with the cutters. Otherwise, they are wonderful. They cut very well and very cleanly; the assembly process couldn't be easier or faster (you could probably figure it out w/o instructions.) And the finished product is downright gorgeous!I've made a lot of bows. It's so easy that you just keep going after you have what you need because you figure that you'll save some for some other use. I use a 1/2 fondant and 1/2 gum paste mix rolled very thin (to resemble ribbons). I've gone as thin as a no.4 setting on my pasta machine and they look lovely. I also make some bows with the 'legs' pointing to the sides (like arms) to make flat bows. These are a nice option to add variety. I also sometimes arch the bows slightly downward so that I can place it over a bouquet of tiny blossoms. It's not just bows with legs hanging down--you can modify them however you want.I recommend that you also purchase the Large set. All three are useful. I wish there was an Extra Large set to make even larger bows that could act as cake toppers.

Wanted to make bows for cupcakes the largest in this set is too small. Made them myself didn't use this.

Best bow cutter out there! Thin and a little bit fiddly, but worth the practice! This particular cutter seems to be disappearing, if you’re wanting a cutter for little bows, grab it while you can! Perfect !

Bien mais un peu petit

Da ich sehr viel mit Fondant mache, habe ich mir das Schleifenset bestellt. Leider sind die Schleifen doch sehr sehr klein, auch wenn man filigran arbeitet. Kleine Schleifen im Grunde ok, aber eine etwas größere wenn dabei wäre, wärs nicht schlecht.

Je ne sais pas comment on peut faire des noeuds avec ça. En plus ils sont microscopiques. Je ne recommande pas du tout

ordered this set as i had been asked to make two "girly" cakes with handbags and shoes on top made out of sugar. this set gave really beautiful results and even though i have cut bows in the past free hand which were ok , these were really great .basic instructions but it explains how to fold and once cut out the parts are easy to fit together. would replace if anything happened to these items and would certainly advise anybody to purchase if making "girly" cakes or wedding cakes.
