Perfect Bag for School, Casual Business or Carry On
This was a Christmas gift for my college student. He wanted something that would fit his large laptop with room for his books, had a few pockets and didn't sit on his back like his backpack does. (He's a big guy - 6"5" - and said he hated backing into things and people with his loaded backpack) This bag hits all these check points and I think it's stylish, too. It looks great with his jeans or business casual at his internship. A definite step up from his old backpack and he says he's able to shift the bag to in front of his body quite easily to avoid bumping into people//things. The strap is long enough that he could wear it cross-shoulder if he chose to. It's adjustable and he wears it to where it hits him at the hip over one shoulder. The canvas is durable, military-grade and the straps are made of real and thick leather (not pleather :0). The shoulder strap is very thick as well, but is soft/flexible. He added a laptop sleeve for protection as there's none built into this bag. He has a very large laptop (17.3" screen with a 1" border all around it - I mean BIG) and this bag fits it well, even with the sleeve, and there is still room for a couple text books, notebook, chargers, earbuds, pens, pencils....etc. It doesn't look comically big at all, though. I think it's because it is soft sided and not padded. This bag is well made and I'm confident that he'll get years of use of out it. When he's finished with school, I think he could use it as an overnight bag or carry on. I highly recommend.

Awesome looking bag, great way to carry DSLR and laptop
I bought this bag after I was left disappointed in another canvas camera bag.Reasons why I chose this are pretty simple. The canvas material looked good from the pictures, and also the leather straps were not the typical PU leather which are terrible.-First impressions are the size is good, I chose the XL size, as I plan to carry camera gear in it, mixed with a 15" macbook. So the size fits this purpose.-As a camera bag, this is unpadded, so it is not a 'camera bag' from the get go. If you plan on using it to carry just a body with a lens and maybe a couple filters/memory cards this will work in it's current state. I did this with a previous canvas bag until the straps broke from the bag.-As a real camera bag, the plan is to buy a rectangular foam camera case, that can allow me to organize my body, and two lenses. This will fit nicely in the bag.-Internally, the bag only has 1 zip, the zip is quite big, so I would possibly recommend carrying the laptop in a sleeve before sliding it in or out to avoid scratches. The zip pull is fabric so that shouldn't be an issue.-Externally, there are two pockets, perfect for filters, a small notebook etc, these are secured using two non magnetic snap fasteners per pocket. Good strength to them, compared to the magnet ones that hold main flap of the bag.-The main compartment is also secured with a big zip, however, it has open ends, so in terms of weather and loose objects, it's something to keep an eye on.Other than that, the leather straps and corner guards are nice, they seem to be weathered, and absorb scratches and marks, so it makes for a nice effect over time. The leather is also on the inner side of the shoulder strap. There is also a rear strap one could use to attach something to, I am still looking into what this could be. If there were two, the use would have been even better, say a tripod.I did notice some stitching issues, hopefully they won't lead to issues down the line.I think this is a little more expensive than the entry level canvas bags, but after having tried them, this definitely feels better, and seem so be better built, which is something to keep in mind when you are putting your camera or laptop in there.Would recommend 5 out of 5!

A nice bag so far
While I haven't had the bag long it does look very nice and am able to carry quite a bit. Unsure of durability as of yet, but looks and comfort is very nice. It doesn't feel cheap like some of the canvas bags I've come across. Will try to remember on updating durability in a few months. I work construction so not the best environment for bags or clothing.

Excellent overnight bag and a pretty good laptop bag too
This is a really nice bag. It's actually the second one that I've bought. I bought the first one in OD green to use as a weekend bag and it worked great. I was in a hurry and grabbed it to use as a laptop bag for work one day and liked it so much that became it's new job so I ordered a new one to use as an overnight bag. It's well made and holds more than you'd thing it would. It is also very comfortable to carry. I gave it a 4 star rating for 3 reasons. First the small side pouches with a leather buckle closure are nice but the strap is so long and there is no where to tuck the excess (minor complaint). Second the magnetic closures on the main flap don't thrill me. They've held up well but don't feel as secure as an actual buckle closure (but it does give quick access). Last it scream for a small handle on the top so you can move it around easier. Once you've adjusted the shoulder strap it becomes a little unwieldy if you just need to move the bag like in and out of your car.
