It actually works!
We have 2 big dogs who tend to slobber water all over the floor as they walk away from the water dish, leaving a trail of water as they go. Even having a mat under the water dish hasn’t helped. So I went looking for a solution and found this. It may not work for all dogs but it works with ours! It took one of our dogs a little longer to figure it out but eventually they both got used to it and we no longer have a wet kitchen floor. The only downsides are that it’s pretty small compared to our regular water dish (this wouldn’t be an issue with smaller dogs) and our 2 year old son likes to play in it and figured out how to take the floating disc part out pretty quickly. This sometimes leads to wet floors anyway. So sometimes we have to put it up until he’s napping or in his high chair for a meal. Overall it’s a wonderful product though and we’ve been very happy with it!

Clean water
It keeps the water clean and helps prevent water splashes. My dogs really like is. It's easy to fill, wash, and it stays clean. Highly recommend.

Like the design, but not good for a smart Jack......
Just received today. Have 4 stars as it seems to be OK for many pets, but ours must be an exception. I like the design of these bowls and thought we’d give it a try for a new Jack Russell 10 week old puppy. The puppy is wonderful, but 1 issue..... he loves to dip his head in a water bowl, puts his entire face in and under water, and proceeds to dig and splash all the water out, making a mess. He also loves to swim with us in the pool, as we have a sun ledge just 6” deep. He is a very smart dog, and immediately realized that he can push his face down into the float, and water comes up all around and he is thrilled, and again, makes a mess. Therefore, this design (as well as dozens of the others) won’t work for him. In training, we won’t scold him when doing this, as it could lead to a fear of a water source. We can use a small bowl, like a tiny crock, but with 2 other pups, this won’t work. We are now trying a fountain bowl, with a stainless top, that the water is only 1/4” deep before it flows into the reservoir, and so far, it is working great for him and our other 2 small dogs.

Good but still having issues
One of my water obsessed cats still manages to spill water out of this. My solution is to only fill it halfway. Seems to deter him. The item is good quality and works as it should.

Works well for small dog
Have an 11 pound dog that typically drinks way too fast. This bowl has definitely slowed down her consumption, but doesn’t fix the problem of her still drinking too much at times (I have to control that by not filling the bowl all the way). This slow bowl works exactly as designed and she figured out how to drink from it immediately.Easy to take apart to clean. Nice simple design.

Best dog bowl invention ever!
I just got my first dog and I am a total freak show when it comes to cleanliness, Even dripping water is a problem for me… Yes I am THAT person! She’s a 8 pound Yorkshire terrier mix so the water lasts about 3/4 days, stays clean (I only have to wipe it down once every other week), doesn’t move around or tip over and there is no leaking into the flotation donut thing. She’s from the shelter /A stray and had zero problems figuring out how to drink from it. She doesn’t drink too fast, there’s no water on the floor (so I don’t have to keep a towel down).

Great product, stupid cats.
This is a wonderful product and I can totally see it working for people with pets that possess a higher level of intelligence than that of a grapefruit. My cats are not such creatures. They absolutely could not fathom drinking from the little hole that is provided in the bowl, their small, smooth little brains simply could not grasp this concept. I left the bowl out for three days as I assumed "Well, they'll get it eventually." all the while my cats would walk up to the bowl, let out a cry of anguish, and go on about their day. I began to fear that they may succumb to dehydration so I relented and removed the lid that prevents them from "piggy dippin' at the piggy pond.". Now it remains in my home as a normal water bowl to serve as a testimony to the intelligence of my dear sweet boys. It's a really good bowl though!

Perfect bowl
Super easy to take apart and clean. Amazon how leak proof it is and best of all drool free when my spaniels dogs use it!!!! My 5 month and 2 year old dogs figured it out in a few minutes. Love that it is a big bowl to last a day or two then can be washed and refilled.

It doesn’t work
I bought this for my cat. Within about two days she just pulled the inside disc out that floats on top of the water and then splashed water all over the place. It’s decent quality, but I think its design is fundamentally flawed, and it didn’t work at all.
