San Gennaro Polenta Traditional, 18-ounces (Pack of6)

I can't remember ever having polenta before, I've had grits so I knew what I was getting into. So far I've tried this in the microwave, baked, and fried. With and without sauce, olive oil sprays, or butter. I didn't like it nuked, too mushy, and not much flavor though that's my own fault because I didn't add anything, no cheese, no butter,no sauce, no milk, etc., not even any salt. Probably needed a little of that.I did like it fried (who wouldn't?) but it takes too long to fry it (I'm impatient).My favorite way so far is sliced thin (about 1/2") and baked until chewy. (baked so I can go do something else while deliciousness is happening) What a fun way to eat something good for you. I do spray the baking sheet with non-stick spray and turn the rounds over a couples times, but that's all.I like how this is wrapped and that it's shelf stable (until opened) and can be on hand for months and months. Great alternative to other sides.

Nothing is like home made polenta. The best way to use this product is too fry it after adding some seasoning.

I used to buy the San Gennaro polenta rolls at my local grocery store, but they stopped carrying it a couple years ago. I haven't found it anywhere locally, so I decided to buy them online.I like that it doesn't have to be refrigerated before opening, that it keeps for a long time, and it's ready to go to be the carrier for whatever sauce you want. I usually use this recipe[...], with more wine and less chicken broth, and baked. Great vegetarian meal, also good with crumbled hot sausage in the sauce. One of these days I'll have to try one of the frying recipes too.

I love polenta, seriously. I could eat it everyday for the rest of my life if that were remotely possible. This polenta is quick and easy to make, which is probably the reason I'm giving this five stars. Will most likely subscribe to this polenta eventually, sometimes cheaper in your organic markets though.

I live in a rural area and was unable to purchase San Gennaro Polenta without going 60 miles to a larger city. I was happy to see I could purchase it online through Amazon. It is the best quality precooked polenta I have found.

Great deal for a 6 pack of polenta. Already cooked you just have to heat it up and add what you like. My mother likes to add cheese and butter....can't go wrong....

Polenta - love this without the drama of standing over the stove and dodging hot bubbles of lava.Love it for breakfast /w/ sugar, milk and coconut oil!

I use this polenta for sweet and savory dishes. It's also very convenient because it's par-cooked. I'll be ordering this product again, soon.
