Do you really need a Gitzo?
This has to be hands down the highest quality tripod for the money. It is heavy duty and built to last forever. I got this one as it is the lightest of the series, but I still wouldn't call it "light weight". It will however give you stability and flexibility with its thick carbon legs and bowl design.

Expecting Good but Received Almost Perfection
I thought I wrote this review earlier but I do not see my posted review. I checked earlier reviews of this product online and decided that it appeared to be a good product backed by a limited 10 year warranty. I was contemplating purchasing a more costly U.S.A. manufactured tripod but the price for the Robus tripod seemed too good to be true and the Amazon warranty provided some assurance that returns would be possible if the product was not as as expected. The delivery was on time as scheduled and the tripod seemed very solid; weight was as reported so don't expect it to be lightweight but the overall effect was a solid tripod with good carbon fiber legs. The 58" height was perfect for my height (5'9") and the product shipped with accessories: Allen wrenches, different feet and a mounting plate for video cameras. So far, the tripod appears to operate very well; I would recommend this tripod as a cheaper alternative to other more expensive tripods on the market.

Best value!
I’m a guy who is very picky about tripods. I don’t know why but to me a tripod is just important as the camera equipment I am using. I have used mostly manfrottos in the past and have recently switched to gitzo. Manfrotto puts out a decent product but using them there are just some things like the locking device for the legs, thickness that just makes me feel like i should of been getting more for what I was paying.Gitzo makes a great product but they charge for it.I was shocked when I opened the box and saw how well this tripod was made. The carbon fiber legs are real thick and stout. I won’t have any concern putting my heavy equipment on there. The hook for the sandbag or backpack is perfect and is structurally sound on the tripod unit. The locking mechanism on the legs feel strong and like it’ll last a very long time.So yeah, overall very happy with the product and price. It’s not the cheapest, not the most expensive but definitely the best value tripod I’ve ever laid hands on.

Best Weight To Support Ratio
Sturdy tripod. Super light. It is a bit bulky, given the legs are further away from the center shaft area. But it's not significant in weight to go with the bulkinessss. The center hook is useful and large. Also, the carry bag is well thought out with the zippers at the top wrapping around the head rather than going straight up.,

Time will tell
Seems like a nice tripod, I’ve had a few Gitzo and Bogen tripods over the past 35 years, every bit as good as the Bogen I’ve had. I did own a Gitzo 5 series that cost about $900, now it was a class A tripod. This tripod is close to the high end Gitzo but it’s not a Gitzo. Leg locks very similar to the Gitzo, Gitzo are smoother turning though. Legs look very nice, 10 x carbon. The top frame and plate is nice also, but not on par with Gitzo Magnesium frame and top plate. The extra feet and case are a nice addition...the case may not hold up though, my zipper broke the first time I put the tripod in the bag to zip it up. Over all it a nice tripod for this size and price. Would I hang a $10,000 + lens and a $5000 camera body on it ? Not sure. I guess if I could afford $15,000 for a lens and a camera I’d go with RRS or Gitzo. I’m satisfied with the purchase... Hopefully it will be a good tripod, disappointed the bag has already broke the first hour I’ve had it.

outstanding !
This tripod exceeded all expectations. Its increadiblely solid. Light weight for its size coming just a hair over 5lbs. Combine it with a good quality ball head or a gimble and you are good to go. Excellent value for the money. This looks, feels, and performs as if it was a higher end tripod costing over a thousand US dollars ....

Outstanding heavy duty tripod
I had been looking at a similar tripod from another manufacturer for a while. It cost more than twice what this one did, and finally I decided to go for the Robus knowing that with Amazon I could return it if I was not happy. When I unboxed the tripod I was blown away by the quality. It far exceeded my expectations. i am using it with a Swarovski BTX binocular spotting scope cradled in a Manfrotto Heavy Lens Head #393. Keeping the scope extremely stable is the only requirement. The Robus succeeds brilliantly. I would recommend it for any heavy duty use.

Great quality tripod but could use a better case.
I’m using this tripod for the portability and strength I need for astrophotography. It seems well built, robust, and light weight. As far as price point, I believe it might be over valued and would forever a higher quality carrying case as one of the zippers busted in the first week, but the tripod itself is solid.
