I've read several books on management and generally find that they state the most obvious things or they are really aimed at beginners. This book however focuses more on talking about situations you deal with regularly and just gives you another way of looking at them. It doesn't feel patronising or pointless and I found myself trying a few of the ideas and putting them into practice. I can see this being one of those books that you go back to again and again.

Simple to reference and a really good format, some very useful pointers for managing a team. Much cheaper than same book at Costco

A decent enough book, a lot of common sense, most of these books are very similar.It's a bit depressing reading these books and realising how useless your boss actually is....

A lit bit old, but still have some rules that can apply nowadays, not bad for the price of the book.

Picked this book up a few years ago before stepping into my first role as a manager with direct reports. Found it to be extremely insightful and useful. I've been applying most of these rules since then and would encourage anyone seeking out a career in management to give it a go. As it is exactly what it says it is, I'm giving it 5 stars.

Management is 50%. The other 50% is hard work and getting people to do what you need them to do. This bookd helped me to become a good manager even after 5 years of managing.
