Turned my dog blue!
The toy was good and strong but it faded all over my dog's white parts (his chest and his front legs) and turned him blue. This pic is of him is after I tried to wash him with a wash cloth and he still is blue. I am concerned with the dye in this toy and if it is not toxic. I will have to see if a bath will remove the stain. Won't be buying another.Update: I have washed my dog's blue toy and it doesn't turn my dog blue anymore. He loves this tug toy and chews on it all the time and it hasn't shown any signs of being destroyed yet. So I am changing my review to a positive one. Except for the fact that it faded all over him, once it was washed, it turns out it is a very sturdy toy and I will be buying another.

Good toy, great price, but you have to use it correctly. This is not a chew toy.
These really arent meant to just be given to your dog and them left to chew on it. This is a training toy and a treat, and for that it works and holds up well. The German Shepherd can hear the drawer we keep it in, or smell it, even if its under a shirt and goes crazy when we bring it out. Its his favorite toy in the world. I have no doubt if left alone he could destroy it, but here we are months later and we dont need a replacement like some folk here do. Its really a pretty tough toy, its helping with bit strength. It is packed pretty hard, and when our shep was a pup it was hard for him to hold onto or bite with enough force to keep hold of it, but now he can pretty well drag us around the room with it if he chooses. It has helped his strength, jumping, training in general, because he views the toy as a treat for a job well done.

Not altogether sturdy
This arrived today. It is ENORMOUS, which works for our 9 month old golden retriever, but I think it's too large for a medium-sized dog. Since it's fire hose material, I thought it would be very durable. We had a small one from a different manufacturer that held up for 8 months of tough play and chewing. Not this one, at least not the handle part. Our girl shredded that in 10 minutes! The body of it seems sturdy enough, however. I have to say I'm somewhat disappointed.

Durable Favorite
This has been my 85 lb shepherd's absolute favorite tug & fetch toy ever since I bought it for him 2 years ago! I have heaved this toy many thousands of times across fields, in surf, on concrete, and heavy brush in all types of weather. When we're not playing tug of war or fetch, he likes to carry it around with him. This is a high drive athletic dog that shows little interest in balls and most other toys. He prefers this size over the smaller version of this toy. Even though it's a bit bulky it's been a great training aid also for agility and obedience. It's not meant to be a chew toy and he isn't a big chewer but he's chomped down on it thousands of times and it's only now starting to show signs of wear, so it's time to buy a new one.

My dog is obsessed with this toy. I was ...
My dog is obsessed with this toy. I was hoping it would be too tough for him to chew through, but he chewed the handle off and is working on chewing off the ends. Not as tough as I was hoping. Either that or my dog has razors for teeth.

I was fun watching him play with this one because he would ...
One of my dogs destroys togs rather quickly. I was fun watching him play with this one because he would toss it in the air. It lasted about 3 weeks before showing some destruction.

Okay but NOT what was pictured
I bought this because of what it looked like in the picture. However, itโs not what I got. My toy game with a cord attached through an eyelet in the top which is all my puppy wants to play with. I really wanted the one pictured. I donโt allow my dog to play with all the time he gets it as a reward toy when training.

Not tough enough - expensive - very fun - toy
Well, our dog absolutely loves it. However, in a few short days, take a peek. It is tough, but not tough enough! A plus is that even though most of the stuffing has been pulled out - with great delight - the strap used to throw for a game of fetch remains intact. Seriously, this is an expensive toy. I expected it to last longer than a few days in the paws of a 52 lbs dog.
