ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE SUN JOE SPX3000
I RENT A GAS PRESSURE WASHER EVERY YEAR FOR VARIOUS PROJECTS AROUND THE HOUSE, I HAVE USED GAS PRESSURE WASHERS TO REMOVE CHIPPING PAINT FROM THE CINDER BLOCK FOUNDATION IN PREPARATION TO REPAINT, BUT MOSTLY I USE IT YEARLY TO CLEAN MY CONCRETE WALKWAY, DRIVEWAY AND PATIO. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS. DUE TO A RECENT INJURY I AM UNABLE TO LIFT HEAVY ITEMS, SO THIS YEAR I DECIDED TO LOOK AT ELECTRIC PRESSURE WASHERS. I DID MY HOMEWORK, I WENT TO HOME DEPOT AND LOWE'S AND I SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND WATCHED YOU TUBE VIDEOS AND READ ALL THE REVIEWS. THE SUN JOE SPX3000 ALWAYS STOOD OUT FROM THE REST IN ALL THE REVIEWS I READ. I ORDERED ONE FROM AMAZON.COM. IT WAS TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK, BUT HAD THE BEST PRICE I COULD FIND INCLUDING FREE SHIPPING. ABOUT TWO WEEKS LATER I HAD MY NEW PRESSURE WASHER. IT TOOK ABOUT THIRTY MINUTES TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS AND INSTALL EIGHT ITEMS: 1. THE HANDLE, (FOUR SCREWS) 2. THE TRIGGER GUN HOLDER, (JUST POPS ON) 3. THE SPRAY WAND PROTECTOR- (ONE SCREW AND A POP IN TAB)-THIS WAS A LITTLE TRICKY, THE TAB DID NOT WANT TO LOCK IN, BUT IT FINALLY DID) 4. THE DETERGENT BOTTLES- (THEY WERE ALREADY IN PLACE BUT NEEDED TO BE "SEATED) 5. THE HOSE HOLDER (SLIDES IN PLACE AND IS HELD ON WITH ONE SCREW) 6. CONNECT ONE END OF THE HIGH PRESSURE HOSE TO TO THE REAR OF THE UNIT AND THE OTHER END TO THE TRIGGER GUN. (ONE END IS MADE FOR THE TRIGGER GUN AND THE OTHER END IS MADE TO CONNECT TO THE UNIT.) 7. ATTACH THE WAND TO THE TRIGGER GUN. 8. ATTACH THE PLASTIC WATER INLET COUPLER TO THE FRONT OF THE UNIT-(THIS IS WHAT MOST PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT WHERE LEAKING OCCURS. MINE LEAKED TOO. I JUST REMOVED IT AND CAREFULLY RE INSTALLED IT MAKING SURE IT WAS NOT CROSS THREADED AND THERE WAS NO MORE LEAKING. IT DID START LEAKING AGAIN AFTER ABOUT AN HOUR OF USAGE. I HAD TO REMOVE THE COUPLER AGAIN, THIS TIME I REMOVED THE SMALL BLACK WASHER OR O-RING AND TURNED IT OVER. I MADE SURE IT WAS SEATED CORRECTLY, THEN RE INSTALLED THE COUPLER. IT HAS NOT LEAKED AGAIN. THE POWER PLUG ON THIS UNIT IS HUGE. IT HAS A BUILT IN GROUND FAULT CIRCUIT INTERRUPTER BUILT IN FOR SAFETY. THE PLUG IS SO LARGE IT WOULD NOT FIT INTO MY OUTDOOR OUTLETS SO I HAD TO USE A SHORT 5 FOOT EXTENSION CORD DESIGNED FOR PORTABLE AIR CONDITIONERS. THIS WORKED FINE. I TESTED THE GROUND FAULT AND IT TOO WORKED FINE. YOU MUST NOT USE A COMMON HOUSE HOLD EXTENSION CORD WITH THIS UNIT. YOU MUST USE THE PROPER GAUGE EXTENSION CORD WITH THIS UNIT IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BURN UP THE MOTOR. CONSULT THE OWNERS MANUAL FOR THE PROPER EXTENSION CORD. SO NOW I AM READY TO USE MY PRESSURE WASHER: 1. I DOUBLE CHECKED TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS PUT TOGETHER SECURELY 2. I HOOKED UP MY GARDEN HOSE TO THE FRONT OF THE UNIT (MAKE SURE THE HOSE IS NOT KINKED). I TURNED ON THE WATER FAUCET ALL THE WAY. (THAT IS WHEN I SAW THE FIRST WATER LEAK AND HAD TO RE INSTALL THE COUPLER) . 3. I PLUGGED IN THE POWER CORD (USING MY SHORT A/C EXTENSION CORD) AND MADE SURE IT WOULD NOT GET WET BY HANGING IT UP ON A PLANT HOOK ON MY PATIO. 4. I SNAPPED IN ONE OF THE QUICK CONNECT NOZZLES. (I DID NOT KNOW WHICH ONE WOULD WORK BEST FOR MY APPLICATION) 5. I RELEASED THE SAFETY LOCK ON THE TRIGGER. 6.. I SQUEEZED THE TRIGGER WHICH ALLOWS WATER TO FLOW THROUGH THE SYSTEM. 7. I TURNED ON THE MACHINE. IT WORKS!! I PLAYED AROUND WITH THE DIFFERENT NOZZLES. I WANTED TO CLEAN MY CONCRETE WALK WAY. THE GREEN NOZZLE 25 DEGREES WORKED BEST. I WAS AMAZED AT THE POWER OF THIS LITTLE MACHINE. IT CLEANED MY CONCRETE AS GOOD AS A GAS PRESSURE WASHER. I USED THIS FOR ABOUT FIVE HOURS STRAIGHT. I WAS VERY PLEASED. THE UNIT IS QUIET COMPARED TO A GAS UNIT, BUT I STILL WORE EAR PLUGS TO PROTECT MY HEARING. WHEN YOU RELEASE THE TRIGGER, THE MACHINE SIMPLY CUTS OFF AND THERE IS NO NOISE. OCCASIONALLY THE UNIT WOULD PULSE WITH VERY LOW PRESSURE ON RESTARTING, BUT RELEASING THE TRIGGER AND PRESSING IT AGAIN IMMEDIATELY CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. I DID NOT USE THE DETERGENT BOTTLES, SO NO COMMENT. AS FAR AS LONGEVITY, THAT REMAINS TO BE SEEN. I USUALLY USE A PRESSURE WASHER ONCE A YEAR SO I HOPE TO HAVE MINE FOR A QUITE SOME TIME. SUN JOE WARRANTS THE MACHINE FOR TWO YEARS. BOTTOM LINE. THIS IS A VERY POWERFUL ELECTRIC PRESSURE WASHER AND IS ALMOST AS GOOD AS A GAS UNIT. THIS MACHINE CAN CLEAN CONCRETE WITH EXCELLENT RESULTS, YOU CAN CLEAN VINYL SIDING, WOOD DECKS, PATIO FURNITURE, GAS GRILLS AND MORE. AND YES YOU COULD POSSIBLY DAMAGE SOMETHING IF YOU DO NOT USE CAUTION. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH MY SUN JOE SPX3000 AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT WANT TO BE BOTHERED WITH A GAS POWERED PRESSURE MACHINE.

Exceeded My Expectations!
In a former life I used a pressure washer almost daily. The best pressure washers imho have a Honda GX series commercial grade engine, a CAT pump (which can be rebuilt) and 3000psi+ pressure. They clean well and hold up well over the long haul but are expensive, starting in the $700 to $800 range and out of my budget range. I didn't expect much when I ordered the Sun Joe SPX 3000 but I was pleasantly surprised especially considering the price (Deal of the Day) I paid. Ordered on a Sunday and it was sitting on the front porch Tuesday (thanks Amazon!). It's packed well and that's a good thing considering the box was found upside down- no damage thanks to the good packaging. Assembly is easy ... if you read the manual first, it's clear and concise. I'd use a regular or ratcheting screwdriver instead of a power tool (i.e.cordless drill or impact driver) on the self tapping screws used for assembly- there's far less risk of stripping the hole. Mine came with a metal supply fitting instead of the all plastic one others have mentioned - no leaks. The Good- it works well. The pro style gun tips make it versatile- even at just 2000 psi the 0 degree tip can do some real damage if you're not careful.. No, it doesn't have the power of a commercial grade pressure washer but so far it has done everything I and most homeowners would ask of it- clean siding, concrete walks, the nasty underside of a mower deck or your vehicle. It's quiet especially compared to gas engine powered pressure washers. There's no gas to buy or oil to change. Two year (residential use only) warranty, a better warranty than many. And real live U.S. based humans in customer service The Bad- it's a bit difficult to move with the 35' (iirc) power cord on the rear and the water supply hose on the front. And you WILL have to move it as there's only 20' of high pressure hose. I'm going to order Sun Joe's SPX-25H 25' extension hose later this month- 45 total feet of high pressure hose will save a lot of moving. I disconnect the supply hose before moving- the new supply coupling may be metal but it attaches to a plastic fitting on the machine. Dragging around 25' or more of garden hose can't be good for it. Suggestions- 1. Check your water supply before you buy any pressure washer. Take the hose you're going to use with the pressure washer and fill a 5 gal. bucket for exactly one minute. Check the quantity of water in the bucket- you should have at the very least what your pressure washer is rated for (1.76 GPM in the case of the Sun Joe) and preferably more.. Some older homes with galvanized steel water pipes have id's the size of a pencil due to years of sediment/corrosion and will not have enough water flow as will some homes on wells .... better to know before you buy. And if you have enough water flow, make sure you open your hose bib/wall hydrant/ spigot ALL the way, every time. Using a larger hose can help- I use a 3/4" commercial garden hose on mine instead of the usual 5/8". 2. Read the manual thoroughly before you start, especially if this is your first pressure washer.... you will probably save yourself some aggravation. 3. At first sign of freezing weather get your pressure washer to someplace where it won't freeze unless you want to wind up with an expensive plant stand on wheels. Conclusion- The Sun Joe SPX 3000 is a good machine at a great price and for most residential homeowners, it is as good as it gets. It's quiet, does the job, no gas to buy or oil to change. Update 9/13/20: It's still working and still no complaints. The extra length of hose has been helpful. Store it properly and you should get good life out of it.

Great home power washer.
Overall a great pressure washer that works very well, just learn to know which attachment to use, as it has some serious power with the smaller ranged heads. It's lightweight and easy to use, and the hose is really long, plus the cord is as well. soap dispenser works very well, just switch to right head. Price is great ONE issue is that the hose attach location seems to be backwards, as you're backing into, as hose attaches to front instead of back. Not sure of what was the plan, but it's awkward

Like everything about it.
A few suggestions: I also had the leaking fitting that was mentioned by others, but when I found it hard to remove, I realized I must have cross-threaded it. The metal pipe that you attach a plastic fitting to that then attaches to the hose has sharp, machine-cut pipe threads. It's easy to get the plastic slightly cross-threaded so it's not straight enough to seal against the rubber washer. This fitting is only put on once, then it's left on. When it's on straight, it does not leak at all. The parts you can see such as the hoses, fittings, etc. seem to all be very high quality. I called Sun Joe and talked to the Tech before I bought the machine and was told it has an induction motor and a piston pump. The unit runs very smoothly, and is much quieter than I expected. The nozzles work good, and are easy to change. I found I was bending over just a bit when using the widest fan on some really tough mildew so I switched to the next nozzle so I could straighten up and get the same results. The Tech said to get "pressure washer soap" from a big box store as the wrong soap can harm the unit. The pressure washer soap @ HD has very fine print that says it is only for use with pressure washers that inject the soap at the nozzle. That soap is not for use in this machine as it runs the soap through the pump. (I called the Tech about this as they were not aware of the fine print.) The cleaning I've done so far, a car and its mag wheels, and 2 large concrete patio areas with 40+ years of Florida mildew were done quickly with no soap. If I ever do use soap, I think I'll just dump it on the surface from a bucket, then it can't harm the machine, and probably overall saves time because the machine does not then have to be flushed. Flush the air out of your garden hose so it is full of water before you attach it to the machine. Bleeding a hose full of air through the tiny nozzle takes longer, and if you don't get the air out and turn the motor on, you can ruin a really good machine. (The trigger on the wand is a manual valve. There is a pressure switch to stop the pump motor when you release the trigger, but if the machine is full of air, not water, the pressure won't build, and the motor won't stop until something melts.) The last bit of air is bled through the wand by pulling the trigger, but be sure the motor is not yet turned on. One last suggestion, get, or make a plug to go where the garden goes when the machine is not hooked up to the hose so mud daubers, or other little critters don't get stuff inside where it will go thru the pump. Happy spraying.

My wife loves our SPX3000 more than me...
My wife loves this thing!!! l haven't had a chance to use it much yet because she's pressure washing everything in sight. Assembling the machine took me a bit less than an hour, but I was going slow and reading the instructions carefully. Also, I had to remove a couple parts that required screws because the six screws provided looked to be identical at first glance, but when I put on the last piece that required screws I realized I'd used two shorter screws in the wrong place. Be careful of that if you get one of these. My wife's best friend saw our washer and immediately ordered one for herself. She brought it to our house for me assemble, and I think the second time around it only took about 30 minutes. In use, the SPX3000 provides more than enough pressure to do most washing chores around the average house. It didn't have enough power to reach our second floor siding which much force, but at least we can some anti-mold/mildew solution (Wet and Forget...recommended!) up there, which we couldn't do with our garden hose. On the first floor, where there was some visible mold/mildew, it washed that stuff off with only a little resistance. For concrete or brick sidewalks, porches, etc. it really cleans. We had 30 years of accumulated dirt and mold on our north-facing concrete porch driveway, which don't get much sun most of the year. This washer took all that off and the concrete looks nearly new. It takes awhile, because only the narrower nozzle tips will get it off, but it does get it off. My wife used on our side garage door stoop, which had some concrete spalling due to my use of salt to melt some thick ice a few winters ago, and the washer was powerful enough to knock off several more pieces of the surface concrete. Haven't tried this yet but I'm sure it will have enough muscle to power-clean accumulated grass clippings from my 46" lawn mower deck when it gets gunked up, as well as our push mower and other outdoor power equipment. The wider angle nozzles would be good for washing vehicles if you're so inclined. Controls are simple and easy to use, including the detergent bottle switch. My only tiny complaint about the design of this washer is that they could have provided a better hanger for the power cord, which is very long. We bought a 25 ft. 12-gauge extension cord to use with ours, and you have to store that separately rather than hang it on the unit. I like the heavy-duty pressure hose and the use of brass compression fittings (like the ones used on air compressor hoses). They snap on tightly and are easily released. The pressure handle also feels well made and durable. One thing we've noticed is when you first start washing, the air in your garden hose will cause the washer's motor to throttle down a bit until it purges the air. This is unnerving the first time you hear it because you immediately assume something's wrong, but you just have to keep the water flowing until all the air is purged; then it will run smoothly. We use a 100 ft hose with ours and it takes several minutes to get all the air pockets out. A lot of people seem to think this doesn't have quite enough power or durability. I've seen gas-powered pressure washers that have way more psi than this, and cost 2-3X as much, but unless you're in business and power-washing grimy surfaces daily, I think this washer is fine. And who needs another small gas engine to fuss with anyway?

Great Product
It took me about 40 minutes to put the machine together as I am not a mechanically inclined person. Then it took me another 20 minutes to figure out my water and electric hookup. Once I was set up according to the manual, I turned the water on, the power on and the machine came on and immediately stopped. That made me think my electric socket was bad so I moved it to another one. The same thing happened. I went back to read the manual and apparently this was an 'auto stop feature' to keep the pump from overworking or somesuch. I tried pulling the gun and the water came out and the machine started making noise so it was clearly on and there was nothing wrong with my electrical outlets. Never having used a pressure washer and also having a well I was not sure if the pressure was correct. I was using the green nozzle and no soap just water to try it out. It was spraying but it was only when I gave the gun a few more squeeze and stops that the water came out MUCH stronger so now I know what "full pressure" looks like. It works really well and my vinyl siding has ---no, had!-- green and black mildew on a lot of it after 9 years of no maintenance done to it. Without any soap I got pretty good results (see the before and after pics) but to get that remaining residual faint grey I'm going to go get the necessary cleaner at the end of the season and wash it again. I have a fairly large house and it's 100 years old so does not have outdoor power sources on every side of the building. This makes the existing power cord not long enough. I had to use a professional contractor's extension cord to make this product work for me. Also in assembling the unit I could not for the life of me "snap the tab into the slot" on the spray wand protector. So I had to make do with just screwing it on :( The needle clean out tool was taped to the back of the English manual. I only discovered it by accident about 20 minutes after I searched for it when checking the carton contents against the manufacturer's list. It would have been nice if they told me that as I almost called the company to report it missing. The diagrams were a little confusing for assembly. Specifically Fig. 3 since the entire machine was not shown and I just couldn't get where all the 4 large screws were supposed to go, if it was the front of the machine or the back. Maybe it's me but eventually I got it. The trigger gun holder kept coming off the unit while I was using it. Now for the fun part--- washing the house and clearing dirt off of a hidden concrete sidewalk was easy for the most part. I did get a two step stepping stool in order to be at the right angle to do the upper part near the eaves. It says don't get on a ladder but a step stool seemed safe. I had to lift my arm up quite high over my head to get the upper parts of the siding. This, and pulling the trigger, was a strong workout. I'm sure my hands are going to be sore tomorrow. But within 2 hours I had 2 sides of my house relatively clean for not having used soap. It's a big improvement over what it was. This is only the first time I have used it and I'm sure I'll grow to love it once I am used to handling it. I love the color and the sound was not too loud at all. I would recommend this product.
