Review “It has been a very long time since a book has touched me like A Wedding for Julia has. I love Pebble Creek and the community of people that Vannetta has caused us to cherish. It is just a lovely book that will hold your heart long after you read the last sentence.”―Peggy Rayburn“One of the very best Amish fiction books ever. This book leaves you thinking about the story line long after you close the last page of the book and yearn for more. This book leaves the reader wanting a Pebble Creek reunion.”―Lorri Graves“Wow. The way Vannetta Chapman writes captures all of me and I feel as if I am walking through her books as a character. The first two books in this trilogy were fantastic and I recommended them, but this final book is awesome. It takes you to places that no other Amish novel that I have read has taken me. The voice she writes with is so current and aware of the rest of the world, but captures the Amish way and how they would seem to respond to life events so realistically. Not only is this a book you won't want to put down, but when you are done with it, it will be engrained in your mind for a time to come.”―Jayme Fanucci“A Wedding for Julia is well-written and an easy-read―you will find yourself anxious to get to the next chapter. I loved the use of the Psalms throughout the book, the faith exhibited that God is in control, and the hope and love that is shown even to total strangers. I definitely recommend this book as well as A Promise for Miriam and A Home for Lydia in the Pebble Creek series.”―Linda McFarland“A Wedding for Julia is a true delight on many levels. All of the characters are created in a way that makes you love them, cheer for them and want to wipe away their tears. Once the storm begins, fasten your seatbelt! You are taken on a journey so well described that you feel every force of Mother Nature. Thank you, Ms. Chapman, for sharing your remarkable gift with us!”―Kate Kleinert“This book spoke to my heart in so many ways. God’s word jumped out at me throughout the pages. I read this book with a roller coaster of emotions―I found the tears falling as I read through the last pages of this book and I did not want the story to end. It was that good! I hope that we will see another book following up on what happened to these characters that stole my heart.” ―Judy Burgi“The character development was outstanding. To me, a truly great book has to allow me to identify with at least one of the characters. This book met this need in a big way. The plot is full of unexpected twists and turns. I was totally entranced as I read. This book is definitely a page turner.”―Karla Hanns, karla-hanns-karla.blogspot.ca“Vannetta Chapman has done it again―she has written another truly wonderful Amish novel. In A Wedding for Julia, the story and characters grasp readers on the first page and don't release them until the final page is turned. I promise you will become attached to the characters and will laugh and cry with them as you would with members of your own family.”―Susan Simpson Read more About the Author Vannetta Chapman writes inspirational fiction full of grace. Filled with Amish charm and suspense!
Vannetta Chapman has a fabulous talent for diversity in her writing. A Wedding for Julia is a warm and tender account of life at many levels. Several themes are introduced including Amish teen rumspringa, middle age romance, aging, dreams coming to fruition and community. I loved Ada, Julia's mother. She has a Psalm for every situation, and although not quoted directly from the bible the meaning is just the same and so appropriate. Unexpected events tripped me up and caused me to hold my breath. There is no predicting which way this storyline is going to go which makes it unique when compared to many Amish fiction books. The added suspense will keep you turning pages while the clock ticks the hours away!Grab a copy of this final book in The Pebble Creek Amish Series and enjoy! Although this is a series book, it could be read as a stand alone. I goofed and read the third installment before the second, and had no trouble following the story line. Buy the entire series, however! I read "A Promise for Miriam" when it first released, and can't wait to read "A Home for Lydia!" This series is entertaining, exciting and a beautiful example of life in an Amish community. The author does her homework through indepth research of the Amish communities about which she writes.Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review. Pebble Creek's A Wedding For Julia
I absolutely love this series by Vannetta Chapman. This book was outstandingly good. Julia receives the news that she will be sent to Pennsylvania to live if she doesn't get married. Her father is dead and her mother is very frail. Her mother's concern is for Julia's welfare and that it wouldn't be proper for her to live alone in the house when she dies. Caleb feels very alone with no family in Pebble Creek. He delivers groceries to Amish families from the local super market. Caleb delivers to Julia and her mother. He is looking for a friend. Well as you might imagine they do become friends and Julia is able to confide in him her problem. As shy as Caleb is, he asks Julia to marry him and she says, "yes". It's wedding season and the Bishop has agreed to their wedding. Julia shares with Caleb her dream for a Cafe in the house. She loves to cook and she actually wants a restaurant in her home. It becomes a reality and has become a booming business. This isn't the only thing going on in this book. You will meet Sharon and teen that is sent to live with Caleb and Julia. And you'll get back in touch with the rest of the members that make-up Pebble Creek and the Plain Cabins. I hope this will not be the last installment of this series. I want to read more. The ending of this book is incredible and I won't even give you a hint!

Quick Wedding....Lasting Love
I have now read all of Vannetta's books! This story had so many different emotional levels. It took me from very high places to level places and to deep places in emotional levels. Full of love and fear and worry, the strength of God weaves through almost every page. I so thoroughly enjoyed how the aging of Julia's mother, Ada, is used when she out of the blue quotes a passage from Psalms, one that always fits the moment. Even though she's not "always aware of her current surroundings" she quotes Psalms and has an affect on those around her.The fears Julia had about marriage and Caleb are easy to relate to, especially with her being older when she married for the 1st time and not having known Caleb very long previous to the marriage. However, Caleb showed her at every turn that he was always there for her and loved her completely, even though he often put his foot in his mouth.Seeing how Sharon grows while living with Julia, Caleb and Ana is truly amazing. It would be wonderful to see another book come out that will carry on with Julia and Caleb and the rest of the circle; but also with Sharon and how her life takes shape. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly suggest reading it.

The best of the series
I loved this book! It told of mistakes made, addressed addiction and eating disorder, life and death... but mostly it was about goodness, kindness, redemption and the Grace of God. The English and Amish community worked together with mutual respect and understanding and friendship. I am saddened that this is the last book in the series. I have come to know the people of Pebble Creek. I would be proud to have them as my friends and neighbors.Vannetta Chapman writes stories of the Amish living in today's world. Addressing issues that affect us all. But love, kindness and respect ...fueled by God's love and mercy ... triumphs over all.Read and enjoy!

Another wonderful read from this author
I was waiting for the release of the third book in the Pebble Creek Series and downloaded it as soon as it was available. It is just as good a book as the other two in the series. I loved picking back up with the families of Pebble Creek and following the lives of Caleb and Julia as they began their lives together. I really enjoyed this book and was not ready for it to end. Vannetta has done it again and I look forward to reading more of her books.

A very pleasant, peaceful story that leaves you feeling good. It's a book that you want to return to each morning and afternoon over coffee or tea. No violence, no profanity, no graphic sex....just a pleasant story.

Great series
Definitely start with A Promise for Miriam and read them in order. Followed by a Home for Lydia; and then A Wedding for Julia. Each is unique but builds on characters. By the last one you don't want it to end because you feel like you have been through good times and bad with old friends. I would love to see Ms. Chapman continue more with the Pebble Creek Series.
