There's an informational paragraph on the lefthand page with a picture underneath it. There is black scratch paper on the righthand page. My son is 5 years old and loves it. He looks at the picture on the left and draws it on the right. It is great for kids who enjoy drawing and want to practice their skills in a very fun way. I definitely recommend!

I bought this for my 8-year-old son for Christmas and he loves it. He thinks it is perfect for kids his age or older. There are stories (his favorite is about the Minotaur) and lots of pages to free-hand draw your own renditions of the creatures. Even if you're not a good artist, the scratch art effect makes it fun and interesting. The book is thicker than I expected, so I think it is good value for its price.

We love these Scratch and Sketch books in our house. The scratch papers have different designs underneath the black scratch-off material and have guides to help kids achieve a fun result, while the sketch side of the pages allow kids to embellish simple lineart to their hearts' content. The included stylus is very sturdy and has an elastic loop to hold it in place, and the spiral binding is similarly sturdy and not prone to bending in odd ways or snagging. The hard covers protect the pages nicely. Overall a great product.

I bought this for my 6-year-old to use on a very long flight. In his own words, this was “REALLY fun.” I deducted one star for the mess that it creates. As you scrape the paper to create the designs, some black residue is left behind and can get all over the place. It’s not messy enough that I wouldn’t consider purchasing it, though, because it’s actually really fun!

This was definitely not what I was expecting. It's cute and very well made, the fact that it's spiral bound like that is very helpful (I definitely wish more activity and coloring books were designed like this). The paper inside is very well put together and the scratch pencil works well. But again, this was not what I was expecting. I've been looking for the scratch art books where the design is already drawn for you and you scratch off the paper to "color" it. This is not that. If you're awesome at drawing or are trying to learn to draw from a reference, this is for you. It's just the picture on one side and a blank black piece of the glitter paper on the other side. You are then supposed to draw the picture on the left.

These books are fabulous.Good fun for kids, they live the glitter under the black

The four year old in our lives LOVES this. Glad I got this, and a bunch of others. Our kids liked these, and the next gen does too. Good for trips (cars, planes, trains)-- no batteries to run out, doesn't need wifi.

Bought for my 8 year old nephew as Christmas present. He loves to draw and was able to free-hand copy the illustrations. Fun to scratch away black to reveal colours beneath. Would recommend! Word of caution is to ensure your child is at right age to free-hand copy. There are other versions of this that only require tracing, which is what I bought for younger niece.

Arrivato in poco tempo ed in perfette condizioni nonostante provenga dalla Gran Bretagna. Non può non piacere ai bambini perchè è davvero bellissimo! Per ogni creatura mitica c'è una piccola storia in inglese, di facile comprensione. Poi nella pagina successiva si può copiare l'immagine della creatura descritta, incidendo con l'apposita pennina in legno su di un foglio nero. Sotto compariranno dei bellissimi colori, a seconda delle pagine!
