FIRST CLASS
This is a well written book covering a very interesting topic in considerable detail. Clearly, the authors know their subject and the floor plans are especially good. I have no doubt that the original photographs by Val Corbett were excellent but the reproduction of one or two is not first rate. (The fact that It was produced in China may or may not be relevant). The scope is comprehensive, giving details of the development of various areas; not excluding estates such as the garden village in Keswick. There are also relevant references to other parts of the country.Anyone interested in the subject will enjoy this. It looks like a coffee table book but it is much better than that.

Superb
Fantastic! Not just informative and beautifully illustrated but also made me think about architecture in a way I hadn't before. The writers looked at how the property sat in the landscape, what the occupiers wanted from it as well as the design perspectives. A wonderful, illuminating and thoughtful book. Highly recommended.

A beautiful book in so many ways from the quality of publication to the wonderful photographs. It is accessible to every one but also contains fascinating detail coming from an academic approach by the two authors.

This is a well researched book. It is presented with much care and thought. The authors show that they are engaged with their subject. The result is a satisfying book to refer to and also to read for general information.
