Stay away at all costs, it is a useless piece of hardware, not ever worth for scraps.
Gave it one star because there is no option to give it zero stars. Of all the access points I have used over the years, this has to be probably the worst. I had to reset it some 5 times within the first couple of days. When managed from the cloud, the bandwidth reduces tenfold. From around 390 Mbps when in standalone mode, most devices are limited to about 80 Mbps cloud managed, with some getting as low 2 Mbps. No explanation from technical support, who just suggested taking it off the cloud and resetting it to factory default in standalone mode. That just defeats the object of a cloud based management service. When cloud managed, anything connected using a second SSID gets no internet at all, which their technical support tells me, after a 25 minute on hold while the "expert" checked, that it is "a known issue". Tech support are next to useless, they asked me for a whole load of logs and documentation to then say nothing for another 48 hours, by which point I had just disconnected the device, reverted to my old ones and arranged for a return."Business" or "Enterprise" it certainly is not. When cloud managed the controls are severely limited, so you end up having to manage it both locally from its web interface and from the cloud with no rhyme or reason why some settings can only be changed from the cloud and others just from the local interface.Even when more than one access point are registered in the cloud, they are treated as individual units with some common settings, not as a true network of access points and, for each, you need to individually log in locally to change some key settings. The information on the cloud portal dashboard is then inaccurate and random. The stats seem to only show the last half hour, whether you set them at 2, 4, 8, 24 or 48 hours. For some clients it does not pass on IP addresses assigned by the router, so they are left in a state of limbo and not recognised by other devices within the same network. All this was while also using a netgear cloud managed switch and cloud managed VPN router. All entirely useless. It has nothing to commend it by. Stay away at all costs.
