Love it now!
Update! We’ve had the camera almost 7 months now. The company has definitely worked diligently on getting the updates in place because the camera is working so much better. I am actually loving it now and feel very confident in it. I definitely Love that I don’t have to physically attach anything to my baby! I would definitely recommend this camera with the updates. Clearly the support team have listened to the complaints and answered with a great working camera! Finally!I'm so disappointed in this baby monitor. It does not give me any peace of mind. The audio turns off and sometimes I don't even notice until I hear my baby screaming which breaks my heart. I don't think it's ready to be on the market, too many glitches. The picture quality and night vision however are excellent, but that's about it. The breathing monitor is fine when its working. It doesn't alert me when the baby is awake, or crying. I'm so sad i purchased this expensive camera that most of the time doesn't even work. My baby is 2 months old, I gave this monitor two month to impress me and it's only been a big disappointment. Right now I'm downstairs trying to check on my baby upstairs and it's giving me a black screen saying "connecting" but it never connects. Real great peace of mind.

Great monitor for bad Eyesight
Favorite parts:AMAZING video quality. Maybe the best I've ever seen on my phone. You know it's working. You can literally see it in real-time. You're not just trusting like I was with Owlet. No false alarms so far!Nightstand mode. I have really bad eyesight (I don't even qualify for corrective surgery, it's that bad) but after a few minutes the screen changes from the video feed to black with a big teal "breathing" icon even I can see without having to get out of bed. Could use improvement:The audio has a little background noise to it. Video feed is sometimes slow to load. I found that if I refresh the home screen before clicking to open the viewer, that seems to take care of it. One more note: Their customer service is super responsive. I don't think I've ever had a company make me feel like they actually care. I guess it's because the CEO made this for his own wife. It might take a day for them to get back to me, but they answered a ton of questions I had and have been giving me updates as their developers are looking into the video feed issue. I would probably have given this 4 stars instead of 5 because of that delay, but I'm so impressed with their support that I give it a big fat whopping 5. This is the kind of company you want behind your baby products.

Great camera, but pricey
No other camera can beat the picture quality on the smart beat. The fact that it tracks breathing gives me so much peace of mind as a new parent. There are still bugs that they need to work out but overall a great product. I do feel the price tag is a bit high though. It has an amazing camera and breath detection technology but for the price, I would expect more. Maybe a temperature reader or the ability to play music/nature sounds to soothe baby back to sleep. Or video capture. Things that other, cheaper monitors have.

Terrible product
This camera fails on so many levels. First and foremost, it is somehow too sensitive and not sensitive enough. It does not register our daughter's breathing. However, it does pick up on movement of the mobile, ambient light, and even sometimes registers nonmoving items as movement (like the pattern of the sheet). We have tried moving the camera and placing the baby in different places in the crib. We have gotten false alarms when the baby was fine, and it continued to believe she was breathing when we took her out and forgot to stop monitoring. So, if you are looking for peace of mind, get the owlet cause this doesn't work.Well, you think, it is still a good camera, right? Wrong. The video quality is admittedly good but the app crashes constantly. It disconnects from the base. It stops working. It freezes up and has to be restarted. It once randomly started monitoring an empty crib without us asking it to. You are better off with a cheap camera than this piece of garbage. Then there are the notifications. Randomly it will ask if the baby is in the crib and if I want to monitor.Meanwhile, as far as I can tell, customer service is non existent. The FAQs are geared towards sales and don't help troubleshoot.Overall, a terrible product.

Unreliable
Going to convince hubby to send it back. For $250 I expect top performance. I don't understand the positive reviews. I've struggled with it from day 1. The App crashes. My phone even tells me it's an app that eats a ton of battery and crashes frequently. The camera goes "offline" and alerts me to inplug it every other day. The app will fail to stay open at and I end up with a screaming baby at night. The breathing detector constanty false alerts which had given me several heart attacks. It takes 10 min for it to detect your baby isn't in the crib anymore. I wanted this to work. The concept is great. Cannot pay this much for somehing to fight with daily. Great picture.

Best WiFi Baby monitor hands down
I love this monitor! I was actually involved in the beta testing for the SmartBeat monitor when it first began because my son started having asthma issues at a very young age. This was the only monitor I saw that offered the breathing monitoring, as a new mom it gave me a huge sense of relief. Now my son is 3 years old I upgraded to the fully released version of the SmartBeat for the better picture quality and the ability to move the camera (and the rest of the technological advances fixed since the beta test) While the monitor isn't doing much to monitor breathing for a 3 year old (they wiggle too much at night!) the camera quality is second to none, and we are planning for a second child so knowing i will have this monitor from Day 1 already puts my mind at ease. I have and will continue to recommend to all new parents! Plus their customer support is absolutely amazing, I had some trouble getting my camera connected and used the chat, the chatbot wasn't equipped to assist with my particular issue but it forwarded my info and i was contacted within the hour to resolve. Not often you can find both a great product and great service.
