Celtic Women by stavra
As a great fan of the Sister Fidelma mysteries by the same author under a psuedonym, and as a trained historian, not to mention an ardent feminist, I was curious to read Professor Ellis' justification for the background information in the mysteries, and was not disappointed. The book has what seems to be a comprehensive catalogue of sources and known facts on the various early Celtic cultures. Ellis' central conclusion that it was the interaction with Roman Christianity that undermined the high status of early Celtic women will no doubt create many a heated argument in academic circles for years to come. Good for him!

Definately would not describe the condition as VERY good.
I was disappointed after reading the description, but there are dents and scratches all over the front cover. OK the spine looks fie and you said good on a bookshelf, but the front cover is not great and I would not feel comfortable giving it as a gift that's for sure. Although the book itself is a great read and the delivery was prompt so that was great, but so disappointed in the condition after the very good description. Maybe good, but not very good.
