What a fantastic book! Serial Killers (Encyclopedia of 100 Serial killers) ...
RJ Parker Does it again! 15 January 2015By Faith ChapmanFormat:Kindle EditionWow! What a fantastic book! Serial Killers (Encyclopedia of 100 Serial killers) is a brilliant piece of work. It is an intriguing read and succinct ! The author RJ Parker has obviously put a lot of hours in , researching and compiling all the short stories. There were my tried and true favourites , and a lot I have never heard of before. R J Parker is the genuine article . He knows his stuff ! He writes in a way that anyone can understand and keeps you riveted ! I look forward to buying a lot more of his books and e books. He is a generous Author who cares about his readers. Heis often giving away books and is very friendly. What more could you want from an author? I think in this modern age it is important to have authors of his calibre and I am betting that he is unknowingly a mentor for many aspiring true crime writers. So , buy the book! You won't be disappointed! Well written, logical, easy to read , you can't go past this book or any others that RJ Parker has written! Thank you for reading my review. GO RJ Parker! You are the best!

honest review
OK so here it goes, this book gives some truly gruesome details......makes a person think twice about even trusting a lifetime neighbor but hey all these things this book includes are facts . I liked that it was to the point about each killer so I did not become bored. I think that this is certainly an adult or late teen book.....due to the graphics of what these killers did to their victims. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and finished it very quickly. I gave it 4 stasrs because of so many typographical errors....way too many and I could have swore I read two different killers twice but over all I liked this informative book very much and would recommend it.

VERY INTERESTING! Highly Recommend!!
This book contains so much information on serial killers that it's hard to imagine how it is all fit into just one book!! BUT the tittle helps you understand how RJ Parker & JJ Slate were able to do just that! Serial Killers Abridged is packed full of 100 "short" (abridged) stories of 100 different serial killers! Each story talks about the killer, their life, crimes, victims & outcomes of trials! Some, we are more familiar with, such as Aileen Wuonos, Jeffery Dalhmer, The Boston Strangler & Gacy. But also included are lesser known about (to me anyway), like a self-proclaimed "witch doctor" from Indonesia or Jack Unterweger, who murdered ppl from all over the world! Plus so many more!! Another thing I like is there are also references included after many chapters so you can find even more on many of these monsters! I highly recommend this book not only for those who have been reading True Crime for years, but Especially for those that are just starting out!

A well written, informative yet east read
I really appreciated the information at the beginning. The types of psychopaths and the statistics. I spent more time reading and studying that section than on the actual case histories. In the 270 pages the named serial killer, dates and victims were very helpful. The methods used helped to align with the initial information about the types of serial killers, triggers etc. I found it interesting so many were victims of abuse of varying kinds, they typical people murdered were either prostitutes, children, elderly or homosexuals perhaps seeking companionship or the need to satisfy themselves. regardless I found this book very interesting and covered some information several times. Some I had heard about others I had not. a very easy

WARNING : THE FOLLOWING CRIME SCENE IMAGES ARE EXTREMELY GRAPHIC WHICH MAY BE DISTURBING TO SOME PEOPLE
Really grisly which is how this book started for me since I used the active table of contents to flashback and view the photos first which certainly set the mood (dark, very dark!) Surprised to find some killers associated with the photos weren't highlighted in the book, but of those that were I'd say Richard Chase and Ed Gein were by far two of the worst. I'd highlight some phrases like using human skulls as soup bowls and consuming raw animal organs but got to be even too sick for me. Frankly, for those that really enjoy these type of works I thought it might have been better to list half as many serial killers over the 445 pages so as to give an even more thorough account, but in the end it was quite a book that left a lasting impression.

Absolutely Riveting!
From the moment I first "opened" this book on my kindle, I was entranced with every word, every story, every person. I learned so many new things about some of the worst serial killers. Every time I turned on my kindle, I chose this book and just became engrossed in it! Every word kept my attention and made me want to learn even more about these people. I looked so engrossed in this book that my fellow veterans at my local VA asked me what I was reading and I told them. I would read this book over and over again! Completely attention grabbing (and holding)! I almost didn't want to stop reading it to sleep or work!

Sorrowful
I don't know exactly how to express myself - I can't really say good read - since it is about real persons getting tortured and murdered - I'm sorry for them and their families. It was a good idea that the stories were short and at some times frustrating and got me more curious when certain items were not covered ex: if he was meticulous, what led the policemen to him?

All your favorites and more
I had previously read this book as a part of "Murder by the Book" but it was no less inreresting the second time around. The synopses of serial killers are listed alphabetically, so this book is a keeper just for the easy access to the information you're looking for. The author has included the basic essentials of each killer so that you can determine whether you want to learn more.[Graphic] Photos Included

A Great Guide
This s a great introduction to the weird and evil world of the serial killer. Each killer is given about four to five pages that covers the killers life from birth, home life, experimenting and finally the murders themselves. Each chapter ends with the killers capture and punishment.Itβs brief but as an introduction itβs very good.

A bit disappointed
A bit disappointed I have to say. This book offers short (usually 2 pages) description of the crime and killers background. I was hoping for more mind analytic approach. If you want to get a basic info about serial killers this book is ok. I went along with positive reviews but guess I am looking for something related to forensic psychology.
