If you know the e-tool's of the army reduce it by about a third. It is petite but strong enough for light work. I use it to clear snow from under a tire in the winter. It is excellent for this because of the smaller size of the tool. I wish the handle was longer because trying to get any snow behind the tire forces you to lean up on the car.

I have this sitting at the bottom of my backpack. It is a little heavier than i wanted, but it is sturdy...so that's the sacrifice. With 40 lbs on my back anyways, i can dedicate a couple to this shovel. I wanted to be able to bury biodegradable waste bags in the forest, so I wanted an actual shovel, not a little lightweight scoop.

Bought long ago. Have owned several similar shovels. This was garbage and only good for being folded up in its case.Needed it. Useless and will not lock in any position.Threw it away

I definitely rather have a real shovel, saw and pick. but if your in a bind, this is a lot better that using your hands. the saw is pretty much worthless unless you sharpen it.

Haven't used it for more than shoveling ash from a fire pit but for that alone it's worth having! Convenient shovel to keep in car or with camping supplies.

Really nice shovel! Very portable. I take it to the bach to help dig when setting up my canopy.
