Excellent. Took a real beating
"I bought these in Winter as the three times to purchase trekking poles, in preparation for a backpacking trip, wanted something light and tough!Great product and very easy to adjust. I've used other cheap trekking poles that are a pain to adjust and sometimes slip.. it's worth it to pay a little more for these. Very sturdy but still pretty light.Well today we took them out for their shake-down cruise - I LOVE THESE BABIES! The carbon fiber shafts are light, but super strong-not at all wimpy. They convey a sense of strength and confidence that makes me feel extremely powerful on the the trail! The angled EVA grips are perfect, as they match wrist angle and do not get slippery from palm sweat as I cranked upwards on. FULL DISCLOSURE:These PEAK WALK Trekking Poles are the first trekking poles I have ever used - period. And I don't know how I ever went through a lifetime of hiking without them! I mean, like I am old! In days of yore, we just used a stick, but I digress! Another feature I really like are the double Alloy Quick Locks Device that adjust the pole's length. They are easy and quick to make the needed length adjustments, very positive in their action and grip on the shafts themselves. After few dozen miles using these on a couple day hikes, already extremely happy with them. Used them in snow/ice with a crazy winter and a week earlier was trekking on dry ground. Great in both environments and better then the ten year old sticks I had before. I most heartily recommend to you, the purchase of these trekking poles!"

In-depth Review & Comparison
I searched for a 3K carbon hiking pole and did quite a bit of comparison before making my decision. I decided on the Peak Walk 3K and the Cascade Mountain 3K. What I was searching for was a very lightweight 3K carbon fiber hiking pole without the expensive price tag and very resilient. Before deciding on these two hiking poles I looked at the higher end models down to the mid range models, and set up a spreadsheet to compare just about everything I could think of. (I geek out over the details!) For me these two poles fit the bill of what I was looking for in terms of specs. These two poles are very, very close to one another with a few exceptions and I’ll break them down and include some pics (Peak Walk on the right and Cascade Mountain on the left.) Weight: (CM lists 7.8oz per pole which is inaccurate along with a few other specs.) PW - 7.51oz per pole, CM - 8.32oz/pp (.81oz diff. Per pole/1.62oz per pair for you ounce counters.) Thickness: PW - 9/16”, CM - 5/8”. (The Cascade Mtn. is noticeable thicker which I like.) Storage Bags: PW is waterproof but the CM is better in all aspects. It’s made of ripstop, better webbing strap, better buckle, better draw string, better cord cinch and a separate zippered pouch for storing the extra feet. I won’t be using the bag, but it’s a really nice one. The attachments for the CM are heavier duty than PW, but I won’t use those either. The tips on the poles appear the be the same. Handle - the handle on the PW are a very comfortable EVA foam type handle. The CM is cork, but not as comfortable to me. It’s pretty firm. Handle Strap - the PW is a very comfortable strap and padded where it makes contact with your hand. The CM has a soft material like the soft side of Velcro sewn on the strap where it makes hand contact. Quick Locks - the PW has aluminum metal flip locks which I really like, because you don’t won’t to lose a lock on an outing of any real distance. The CM on the other hand has lightweight plastic flip locks. Sheen/Finish - the PW has a nice matte grey finish, where the CM has a gloss finish that looks almost 3D with the carbon fiber. It’s pretty cool. There is also a metallic Silver reflective tape on each pole. Collapsed Length - CM is 26.25” and PW is 24.75” long. Both have a 1 year warranty. My final note is that the PW has a very comfortable grip, but has a bouncy-shuttering effect and feel when it’s planted firmly in the ground where the CM has a solid and sure footed feel in the hand. What it boils down to is metal flip locks or a better performing 3k pole. This may be information overload for most, but there may be some researchers out there that I hope this helps out. You wouldn’t know this information otherwise unless you order both like I did.All in all, they’re both really nice poles. It’ll come down to what categories are the most important to you, but I personally think I’m leaning towards the response and performance of the CM.

Worked well for a couple months...
Put about 60 miles on these poles in just under 2 months. I slipped and fell and the lower section of one of the poles snapped in half. Ultimately my fault, but I was hoping that these would be more durable for situations like this. I can still lend out these poles, but only for a shorter person (I'm 6 foot). Really bummed that there are no replacement parts available for the lower section of the pole for PEAKWALK. If that was available, I'd just replace this and keep them. However, since they don't offer this service, I'm going with a different brand that does. Also, the metal tip on the bottom of the pole seems to have worn out pretty aggressively in only 60 miles.UPDATE 9/25/2019PEAKWALK contacted me regarding my review and made amends by sending me another set of poles. I have now rated the poles 4/5 stars. still 1 star off due to there still being no place to purchase replacement parts for this product. While I'm still thankful for their offer, I'm bummed that if these poles break in any way, I'll still need to get a whole new set. Also, someone on the PEAKWALK team would constantly send me emails to update my review. While I had full intentions on doing this, it seemed very unprofessional to harass me with, "Please update your review..." emails.

No users manual included
Purchased these poles for walking in Ireland in March.Received today and although they look spiffy, they come with attachments that we have no idea how to put on for maximum benefit! There was no instructions included so I was going to contact the company and ask for at least a picture of how the poles look when put together for walking.I feel that was remiss and will be sending them back if we at least don’t get that.
