HUMI-CARE Humidifier Crystal Gel HX10 Rectangle Humidifier

I've bought two of the Humicare humidor humidifiers. I do not use distilled water in the humidifiers, because they release too much moisture into the humidor. This will cause the cigars to mold. I use the "Life Style Basics Cigar Humidor Solution". This is an excellent solution to use with the Humicare beads. This combination keeps the humidor at about 70 to 72 percent humidity. When I first received the Humicare humidifier, I could easily shake the beads. I poured about 3 OZs of the Humidor Solution and let sit for 30 minutes to an hour. After the beads have soaked up the solution, then when shaking the Humicare, you can tell the beads are much larger and tighter in the humicare humidifier. This will last a couple of months before needing an infusion of humidor solution. Thus far with this combination, the Humicare Humidifier is an awesome product and well worth the money spent to keep and protect my cigar investment and enjoyment.

The only problem I have had is soaking the crystals too long and expands the crystals too big and the case breaks open. The crystals spill out! If that happens just let it dry out and snap the case back together

Humi-care products have always been reliable and priced right. I've owned many of their products and am always satisfied.

This humidifier is great. I replace a small 2oz cup type humidifier that was ancient with this new one. I took my 50 cigar desktop humidor from 55% to 80% overnight. I filled up the humidifier with distilled water and let it sit for an hour per the directions. The beads swelled up and it looked very full. This morning I went to check the humidity and the case had split from the pressure of the swollen beads. Some beads spilled out, and I could not get them all back in the case. I taped the humidifier case shut in both ends to keep it from popping open again, and put the remaining beads in a shot glass inside the humidor. The dry humidifier is definitely overfilled, but that’s not a huge deal. The beads that spilled did dampen the floor of my humidor, but it should dry out in a day or two. All in all, great product. The case could be better sealed/secured, or filled with less beads. I’ll see where the humidity levels out after a week.

These are great, keeps my cigars fresh with just a little distilled water!

If this is just a source of humidity, OK, but if it's supposed to help maintain consistency, it fails. My relative humidity is up and down and rarely stable, even while I seldom open the humidor door.
