Kettle without any plastic contact to the water
It took a long search online and 2 returned kettles to find a smartly designed one like this that doesn’t have any plastic touching the boiling water. I like the outer plastic keeping the kettle cool to touch. The interior is all metal and smooth without any weird holes, gauges, or heating rods sticking out to make it hard to clean. The lid opens 90 degrees and I was able to easily put my hand inside to clean it. I also like the simple one temperature option so there is less chance of malfunction due to too complicated tech. The water heated up quickly as expected for an electric kettle. R Reasonably priced for a simple kettle. Highly recommend!

Nice kettle
Attractive medium-sized kettle. No plastic touching boiling area. Boils quickly. Shut off works fine. As the manufacturer explains in the brochure it continues to boil for 10 or so seconds (can’t remember exact number offhand) after it reaches the boiling point but it does shut off. Very pleased with my purchase.

Great for water. Watch out when cleaning with vinegar.
An update five months later: The kettle still boils well, but I'm taking off a star because the kettle now leaks. The interior is still intact; I think what's happening is that, as I pour water out, there must be a space where the spout meets the body of the kettle where water is getting trapped and then leaking out of the bottom of the housing. The spout is part of the outer wall and the section with the filter/holes is part of the inner wall, so the seal between the two must have been breached or opened up. I have to use a kettle with limited wattage, but I'm not sure if I should order another one of these, or the all-metal version as the spout looks different. This is a great kettle to use if you need just a couple of cups of water or so. It can be a bit noisy at its peak, but that passes quickly. (It's not deafening or anything like that -- just noticeable.) The automatic shutoff works fine, and while the outside gets warm, it doesn't seem that bad (though honestly, I'm not going to stand there grabbing a kettle with boiling water in it, other than by the handle). The only thing I really noticed was that, when you boil only water with the kettle filled to the max line, it's fine, but if you clean the inside of the kettle by boiling water and vinegar, and you fill it to the max, then it will boil over and out. So if you're using boiling vinegar to clean it, keep an eye on it. Shipping was marvelously fast, and the kettle is sleek and compact. It's 1,000 watts, so it's good for use in rooms where you have to limit power usage.

A thumb lever would make it a nearly perfect product but as-is, about as good as it gets.
Boils one liter of water almost as fast as it takes to brush my teeth? Check. 100% stainless steel tub, no plastics or glues leeching into the water? Check. Lid that opens 90deg for easy cleaning? Check. Double wall to keep water hotter for longer vs single wall kettles? Check. Plastic cool-touch outer wall? Check. Auto shut off? Check. Boil dry protection? Check. Mechanical switch for smart plug compatibility? Check. Looks good sitting on a counter top? Subjective but in my case, Check. A Consumer Reports Top Pick? Check. Long term reliability? TBD but I'll update if there are issues. My only gripe and a minor one is that it doesn't have a thumb lever for opening the lid. The release in the lid is a bit awkward to use, sometimes requires a second try or putting the kettle down on a countertop and using two hands. For those of us that just want a quick boil and to be on our way, this one hits all the right marks. Excellent price(~$28), high performer, happy customer.

Sometimes the Water is Boiling for Awhile Before it Shuts Off
Pot heats up quickly but does not always shut off right away. One time it kept boiling and the handle got hot. I like the small size and I wait nearby pot for safety reasons. I also unplug unit after using it. As far as hot water touching plastic either take your time pouring water or open lid.

Excellent kettle, better than the larger one, zero complaints. Been using every day for months.
I've used this nearly every single day for over two months, often several times per day, and I'm very happy with it. I spent literally hours comparing dozens of different kettles (foolish of me, good for you), and I'm confident I made the right choice with this one. I'm the type to nitpick and notice any design flaws, and while I'm reluctant to use the word 'perfect', the fact that I have zero complaints about this says a lot! Actually, at first I ordered a larger version from the same manufacturer, and ended up returning it for this one. Both were fine, but this was better for me: Primarily because this has a smaller minimum fill level (300 ml). That means less energy use and faster boil time, since the vast majority of the time I just need enough for one cup of coffee or oatmeal (300 ml is still usually more than I need, but this is better than most kettles on the market). It also takes up less space on my counter, and I like that the lid opens a full 90°. I don't mind the manual instead of spring-loaded opening, if anything I prefer it, and that probably makes it more durable. The base is good and grippy so it stays where I put it. I haven't had to clean it yet (except once before my first use, and occasionally wiping off coffee splatter near the spout), but the smaller size and 90° lid opening makes it easier to clean than the larger version. It still looks brand new. It's fairly easy to read the inside markings for the minimum fill line, the wide opening lid probably helps with that. Overall this feels solid and well made, yet light and compact enough that it wouldn't be crazy to take this on a road trip (though there may be better options for that). The outside only gets warm not hot, and while almost none of these kettles insulate well (regardless of claims), it is double walled and stays hot enough for long enough for my purposes at least. It heats fast enough that if I get distracted for a while and I'm not sure how hot it is, I just flip the switch again, it boils so rapidly it's really not an issue- usually the water is ready before I am.. I suppose the only things that could make this better is vacuum insulation, and an even smaller minimum fill level (the latter may not be feasible for safety/durability reasons, and vacuum insulated kettles seem to be very rare on Amazon at least [despite several obviously false advertising claims]). FYI I ruled out kettles with an exterior liquid level indicator, because I think that has more potential for sanitary issues; and fancier looking glass ones because anytime you have multiple materials joined together, there is more potential for leaks, cracks, and other failures (especially when high heat and liquid are involved). Aside from the obvious fragility (and poor thermal insulation) of glass as opposed to metal and plastic. But seriously unless you need a larger kettle, you should probably stop looking and just buy this one. If I somehow lost or broke this one, I would buy the exact same one again. [Update April 2023: I'm still using this every single day, often multiple times per day, and it's still going strong! One of my best purchases ever. I think I used CLR one time to remove some mineral buildup, I probably will again at some point, but it really isn't necessary.]

I’m VERY happy with this purchase!
I love this kettle because. It’s smaller than my old one yet, still big enough for several cups. It heats quickly (and there’s no coil within the chamber of the pot where the water goes in like the one I had before). A great sleek design with auto shut off and the price was right too. NOTE: Last two pics are comparison pics of new one and my old one.
