This is a large, substantial compass. The quality is better than I expected for the price. Used not only for drawing, marking, etc, but also for transferring measurements.

Heavy duty compass, with care (and probably oil) the frame should last for a while. Not exactly for precision but does the trick. My only concern is the tube that’s spot welded on, for holding the pencil, could break off easily. I’m only say this because of the couple times I had to order (and re-order) they routinely showed up with the tube either broken loose or missing all together. Instead of returning the item again, I’ll just fire up my welder and put a nice tack on it and it shouldn’t be a worry then. But for what it is, the price is right (just make sure your package has both of the thumb screws included as well). And even though they’re pretty solid, my first order/package was ‘damaged in shipment and returned’ somehow... delivery person must’ve had a bad day

Has a missing piece/part. The little black nut to keep it locked in place is missing.

Just arrived with the pencil holder broken off. The product is a substantial piece but it is not well finished. The edges are rough and the points are blackened from the heat when they were machined. This is Harbor Freight quality merchandise. Additionally it will need care to prevent rust especially in a hot humid climate like Florida.

I have only used it once to draw an oval for cutting out a table top I’m making for my grandson expected in two months. It worked well even though I needed a radius of 18”. I’m sure I’ll be using much more as I do a good amount of woodworking.

This compass is very sturdy and built well. The finish is quite rough but it does the job.

Using to mark large circles for size on pre turned green wood log forms - the pencil holder diameter is slightly oversized (need to use a larger diameter pencil) and pencil set screw does not clamp - if set too tight will pierce and break pencil. Will look into adding a sleeve which will address both oversize and drill action... Price is right though!

I should have paid more attention when ordering. I was expecting a regular hand-sized wing divider for marking stitching lines in the leather I use. Upon opening the package I found a divider that was as long as my forearm and very sharp, at 12" i realized it would not work for what i had intended.But i have used it, i made a shower cap. it Worked perfectly for drawing a very large circle. The part that holds the pencil is a bit big though a rubber band wrapped around the pencil fixed that issue.
