Product Description Roma Downey, Della Reese. This inspirational series brings to Earth for a second season the emotional stories of one noble angel sent to deliver God's message by helping people living in distress and her seasoned supervisor who oversees her ways and offers her spiritual advice. Includes all 24 episodes on 6 DVDs. 1995/color/17 hrs/NR/fullscreen. .com Touched by an Angel swiftly amassed a devout following, drawn to the TV series' clear Christian values and the warm performances of Roma Downey (she of the creamy complexion and lush pre-Raphaelite hair) and Della Reese as Monica and Tess, two angels sent to help troubled human beings. The first season had the additional virtue of exploring the ordinary yet complex emotional problems of troubled marriages, rebellious teens, and coping with the death of a loved one, in stories that were (with a few exceptions) cleanly written and down-to-earth--though, of course, everything was resolved by divine intervention. The second season, regrettably, dives into melodrama: A pregnant woman is trapped in a bank vault after her husband tries to rob the bank; a lawyer meets up with an old girlfriend, not knowing that her wicked ambitions caused his best friend to commit suicide; a postal worker sends atheistic replies to children's letters to God--and it turns out that he's an Auschwitz survivor. Even episodes grappling with what could be compelling material, like a stripper who feels responsible for her daughter's birth defect, get pushed over the top when Tess saves the day by creating a hot air balloon out of thin air. Certainly, God can accomplish miracles, but the second season of Touched by an Angel loses sight of his subtlety and mysterious ways. Nonetheless, fans will continue to take comfort in the show's message about divine love. Episodes feature a wide range of guest stars: Movie actors like Elliott Gould (M*A*S*H) and Stacy Keach (Fat City); old television hands like Hal Linden (Barney Miller) and Cindy Williams (Laverne & Shirley); non-actors like poet Maya Angelou and singer Natalie Cole; and such, well, lesser celebrities as Kathie Lee Gifford (Live with Regis and Kathie Lee.) John Dye joins the series in this season as Andrew, a handsome angel of death. --Bret Fetzer

a wonderful variation on the theme of angels coming to the earth and helping people in life
I really like the casting of the angels, including Tess, Monica, Andrew, Adam and the guest stars. They are quite good. The plots are varied, and it does seem that the angels generally help the people without giving them an unrealistic fairytale happy ending. The theological justifications seem a bit thin, and sometimes the angels seem to help people more than they are supposedly allowed to. But we do not expect perfect consistency in a fantasy story. The camera work, colors and sharpness are good, and they manage to have something new each episode. It appeals to me more than the similar Michael Landon series. Probably they had more money to work with. So, I enjoyed it. Some episodes appealed to me more than others, but there is something for everyone.

God's grace shines through Touched By an Angel
In an entertainment world where networks are using every devious scheme to boost their own ratings using every conniving plot as possible whether by sheer violence, sexual-explicit themes or uttmost nonsense comidic plots... nothing touches the soul better more than mere entertainment than by this Heaven-sent series. "Touched By an Angel" lives up to it's aptly named title --- it touches, it stirs, it moves the soul. It is like a well crafted pieces of the Good News made into a television series that although noted for it's very own perpetual simplicity, yet its delivery to the viewing audience renders one see life in a more constructive and hopefull manner. Each episodes' plots is intricately done to mirror everyday happenings to people on whom faces every conceivable problems. Even I myself in every downfall or state of distress that I may encounter, this blessed series help me realize that there is Hope and that there will always be a Supreme Being that look after us and love us immensely. TBAA is not at all preachy but like our Lord, it delivers inspirational messages like modern parables using the medium of this series, that clearly touches the core of the viewer's heart.I was literally disappointed when I knew that CBS had ended TBAA but thank God that it is available to us through wonderfully packed seasons. Now all I have to do is keep hoping and praying that all complete seasons would be released soon.To those on whom are suffering every known trials in life, see all of TBAA and I assure you that in every ending episode you will see, you will become a better and more blessed person.

Complete Season?
These shows are fantastic, heartwarming, and perhaps a great teaching tool about the love, mercy, and grace that God has promised His children. (as are all of the Touched By An Angel Productions) This set of discs, however, do not represent the entire season as stated. There may been others omitted as well, but it's a sure thing that the episode titled 'The feather', with Randy Travis as the older brother of younger, disabled Joey, is half of a two part show. They even begin the show with, "In the previous episode---------" Now, just how stupid do the producers of these DVD's think we are? Sure, they can get by with leaving out a few episodes and calling it a complete season (after all, it's been a long time since we originally saw them in order), but when they go so far as to say an episode is the continuation of a former one (which wasn't there) I feel that my intelligence is being blatantly tested in a way I do not appreciate...perhaps to see how many episodes they can get by with leaving out next time? I don't know. But I do know it's not the first time episodes have been omitted from supposed 'complete seasons' of past T.V. shows (Not necessarily Touched By An Angel). Please let this fact in no reflect on the goodnes of this particular program, nor any of it's participants. The sole blame for these omissions lies in the hands of those re-producing these shows on DVD.

Wonderful Show!
This show has touched my heart with so many wonderful blessings. Sad that it is not on TV anymore. Was my favorite. I couldn’t miss one episode when it was on the air. I use to set my TV/VCR player to record the episodes when I wasn’t home. Fortunately today we have these wonderful apps for streaming and the opportunity to get our own personal copies of each season from various online places. Personally I have found Amazon to the best place to make such purchases. Amazon almost always beats the others. Plus when you have a membership mostly everything is free shipping.

Touched By An Angel: Season 2 - Wonderful!
The whole series, Touched By An Angel, deals with real problems that being human and living in this world may bring. I love just about everything there is to love about it - the thought-provoking and interesting story lines, the main characters, and that lots of my favorite actors as were brought in as guest stars .I wish that inspiring shows like this would never end. I wish that there were more shows that offer hope and comfort like this one were airing today. The quality of the packaging and its artwork is very nice as well. I am thankful that this series is available on DVD and that there are good deals on its price to find because I want to have all of the nine seasons to revisit with friends and family that want to watch them with me.

Touched by an Angel - Season 2 / Region 1 / English
Nominated for 3 Golden Globes and 12 Emmys, including two by Della Reese for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, Touched By An Angel built a sizeable and loyal audience with its upbeat themes and inspirational storylines. The brainchild of John Masius, creator of Providence (1999) and writer for such hit series as St. Elsewhere (1982) and LA Law (1986), Touched By An Angel follows in the footsteps of Michael Landon's successful series Highway To Heaven, which chronicled the exploits of a single angel who wandered across the United States providing support for lost souls in need of aid. Touched By An Angel is quite similar, but the series uses multiple angels to achieve its purpose. Like Highway To Heaven the series utilizes a contemporary setting and modern problems, allowing the show reach a broad audience who enjoy its themes of love, hope, and redemption...Touched By An Angel follows the exploits of several angels sent to Earth as "caseworkers" so as to bring God's message of love, peace, and hope to the distressed people of the world. When the series begins, Monica (Roma Downey) is a novice caseworker still in training (having just been promoted from "search & rescue"). Assisting Monica, and a caseworker in her own right, is Tess (Della Reese) who lends the wisdom of her many years of experience in dealing with the problems afflicting humanity at large. Together, these two angels interact with people on Earth, easing the burden of each soul with which they come into contact. In later seasons, Monica and Tess would be joined by Andrew (John Dye), the Angel of Death who also fills in as a caseworker to help lighten the load, and in the final two seasons (2001-2003), Gloria (Valerie Bertinelli) would join the trio as a regular recurring angel character... Overall, Touched By An Angel filled a desperately unmet need along the TV programming landscape. With much of today's programming fixated on sex, violence, and "reality," the hour-long CBS drama provided deeply probing family-oriented content which always left its viewers with a positive and upbeat feeling...The Touched By An Angel (Season 2) DVD features a number of touching episodes including the season premiere "Interview with an Angel" in which Monica is given the task of granting an interview to a journalist writing a piece on human encounters with angels. The reporter, Callie, is quite skeptical, but when Monica recounts the story of a couple that granted forgiveness to another person, Callie unwittingly becomes the subject of an angelic encounter herself... Other notable episodes from Season 2 include "The Big Bang" in which Monica reveals herself to a married couple intent on robbing a bank and exacting revenge on its president, and "Lost And Found" in which Monica and Andrew come to the aid of a troubled detective haunted by his failures while working for the Centre for Missing Children...Below is a list of episodes included on the Touched By An Angel (Season 2) DVD:Episode 12 (Interview with an Angel)Episode 13 (Trust)Episode 14 (Sympathy for the Devil)Episode 15 (The Driver)Episode 16 (Angels on the Air)Episode 17 (In the Name of God)Episode 18 (Reunion)Episode 19 (Operation Smile)Episode 20 (The Big Bang)Episode 21 (Unidentified Female)Episode 22 (The Feather)Episode 23 (The One That Got Away)Episode 24 ('Til We Meet Again)Episode 25 (Rock 'n' Roll Dad)Episode 26 (The Indigo Angel)Episode 27 (Jacob's Ladder)Episode 28 (Out of the Darkness)Episode 29 (Lost and Found)Episode 30 (Dear God)Episode 31 (Portrait of Mrs. Campbell)Episode 32 (The Quality of Mercy)Episode 33 (Flesh and Blood)Episode 34 (Birth Marks)Episode 35 (Statute of Limitations)The DVD Report
