Pocket companion to Robbins 8th editions
Fantastic book. The main book is simply too much for a medical student to go through. This book can be used first-hand and is great for Pathophysiology as well as Pathology.Highly recommended. I am not even using the main Robbins pathological basic of disease book now; there is more than enough information in this book.

The content is good, but would advise buying the book rather than ...
Bit rubbish on a kindle. Drawings, figs and images are unreadable. Not very user friendly as it's difficult to dip in and out and just read certain chapters or diseases. The content is good, but would advise buying the book rather than ebook.

Good summary...
A very good summary of the original book. Far easier to follow that the large book. It I think is more suitable to the medical student as opposed to the pathology postgraduate (which the large book seems to be for). I thoroughly enjoyed using this book. It is fantastic and good for revision to.Posted 19th Oct 2011Content:5/5Readability:5/5Suitable for PBL:n/a/5Use for Revision:4/5Recommend to a friend:5/5

Worthy purchase
Worthy purchase - the proverbial 'Baby Robbins'. A standard reference point for Pathology. Certainly a good book and one that ideally should be used over any other Pathology textbook.

Pocket sized but stuffed with clear and organized information.
The actual Robbins pathology book almost scared me out of medicine, so this pocket sized companion is perfect in that it carries enough information to stand on its own, and also supplements other study materials such as Pathoma perfectly. Definitely worth the purchase.

unschlagbar
der Informationsgehalt auf engsten Raum für die Kitteltasche ist einfach überwältigend. Es ist ein absolutes Muß für jeden Pathologen und interessierten Studenten.

Great book, very concise! Exactly what you're looking for!
I opted for this book over the full-sized Robbins text because it was: A) cheaper, B) smaller/more portable, and C) more concise. A lot of people in my med school class got the full-sized Robbins text so I've had a chance to look through and work with both and I can definitely say that this Pocket Guide is the way to go. Hit's all the basics. Since everything is always so condensed, it ends up saving you a lot of time (which most med students seem to be notoriously short on). Plus, since it's so small you're way more likely to have it with you when you need it. The full-sized Robbins text certainly has more details, but all those details don't do you much good if you always leave the big (really, it's HUGE) book at home.Bottom line:Buy this! It's awesome. It will save you lots of time, money and back-pack space.Unless you're a true, M.D., board-certified pathologist, I see absolutely no reason to own the full-sized Robbins text.
