An efficient way to keep old fixtures going
I've been in this house 18 years and most of my circline fixtures are nearly that old. These ballasts are exact replacements for the HD Hampton Bay fixtures. The wiring diagrams didn't confuse me but I'm an experienced builder who does my own wiring. You do have to cut supply wires in the right place, strip the insulation off the ends, and use small wire nuts.All these solid-state devices have an indeterminate failure rate. I've had Toyota auto electronics be unreliable right out of the box. China is starting to flex as THE international manufacturing giant and my subjective appraisal is that the reliability of these ballasts is steadily improving. Even years ago most of my ballasts would go 5+ years. When circline fixtures start acting up I freely admit that doing the diagnostics can be baffling. Problem can be the tube, sometimes a new tube is defective---it can drive you nuts.Prices and shipping time have been very satisfactory. I buy two or three at a time and keep a replacement inventory. I have not found replacements off the shelf locally, or a different manufacturer.

The first package we received had been opened and contents removed. We quickly received a replacement shipment and the new ballasts are installed and working beautifully. No complaints, other than disappointment with the reality of some people who tamper with other's mail.
