Normal Wear/Tear or Consistant Malfunction?
Update: 3yrs later, have owned 5 prs of these now, & w/ elapsed time & once a week wear, have noted that on at least 2 of the 3 original pair purchased the shoe started separating from the sol, both @ same area of the shoe, the inner point past the big toe area. Im torn now whether this can be acceptable yet coincidential wear/tear or if this is a consistant malfunction to be duly noted. For now, just scrutinizing the remaining pairs owned for similar such damage. Will continue to update.Original review: This is the 3rd such pair ive puchased since i've been reaquainted with these from my late teen years in NYC some 20+ years ago, and i do see that they have gone thru 1 or 2 minor changes from back then but i am OH SO happy i'm able to stockpile various colors of these in my closet again! I've always been a fan of this vendor's products but they got to be really hard to find (thank you internet shopping!). I haven't had any issues with any of the pairs ive purchased so far & hopefully this will continue to hold true. For now, highly recommended!

Old school from the Bronx,N.Y.
I grew up in New York City during the 60s and 70s and I use to wear this Playboy shoes they were great to walk, run, dance, and even play basket ball in the court in the Project Housing if I did not have my converse on. They have not loss their touch, when my wife saw me with the shoes on she said that they look very sharp. They look great with a suit and tie. They are still making them very comforting to wear, the rubber sole bottom is not the same but it will do ok. The price is very fair, the delivery time was very good also. The way they are packed was very neat and gave the impression that the shoes are very expensive. You earned me as a regular customer.

They Don't Make Them Like They Used To
I was really excited that I found these British Walker Playboys. They remind me of back in the day when I used to wear these in the 70's. I bought the denim blue color. They fit good and should last a while. But the color started to flake off after the first day. By day three, they look terrible. Seems like the dark blue color was sprayed on, and flakes off to reveal a light blue color. I wish i could figure out how to remove the sprayed on dark blue layer and just deal with the light blue leather color underneath. I don't think I'll buy these again. They sure don't make them like they used to.

LOVE THESE SHOES !!!!!
My husband had Bates Floaters way back in the day, but they are now discontinued. I found these, and also found out that they are the originators of this style of shoe. I bought them for my husband's birthday gift this year and he ABSOLUTELY LOVES these shoes. He says they felt great from the first time he tried them on. He's worn them every day since they arrived. Guess I'm going to have to get him a few more pairs in different colors (:

Real old school flavor.
Looks and feels just like I remember when I rocked Playboy's back in the early eighties. (83-85) The new styles and colors are on point. Now if only the two-tone wingtips would come back, OMG!!!! with plaids or sharkskins. WHAT???? I know if you're looking at these shoes you know what I'm talking about. You remember. ✌

Disappointed
Isn't comfortable I thought after all these years that there would a better cushion inside especially these days but not I really felt like I stepped back into the 80's there arch support sucks but I will keep them maybe Bless somebody else with them that really needs them there's alot of homeless people and people in need for shoes

Comfortable, affordable, iconic.
Similar to the chukka worn by Steve McQueen in the film, "Bullitt" these shoes are perfect in every way. The construction is excellent, the fit is very good though a padded arch support is needed for me and makes them a bit more snug in a good way. I'd have hoped for the dark rust color but this a nice desert tan and darkens a bit more when treated with Kiwi brand suede protector, which is water proofing spray and stain protector. I love these shoes and they do draw compliments.

Slum shoes…
The shoe did not hold up to my expectation. As a shoe collector I always return my shoes to their original shoebox( I have a lot of shoes), when I take them off. The shoe color started to fade and bump up on the front section. The leather crumble and looks very old after only three wears. Totally disappointed as a Ole G, who remember these shoes when they first came out. SMH/disappointment…
