Great printer for printing your snapshots and portfolios!
I initially bought this printer after being frustrated with the quality of prints at Walgreens and the cost of getting a couple of 4x6 prints shipped to me from Adorama. I really was just looking to print some 4x6 photos to send to a friend in South Korea as a thank you, but this printer has so much more to offer. My 4x6s were printed from iphone photos and they looked good and I sent them off.Afterwards I decided to see what my photos would look like printed out at 11x14 and they look great, and the I realized this printer can print up to 13x19. I was truly amazed by the quality, prints came out with bright and accurate colors, and stunning sharpens. On my days off now I spend time printing off some of my favorite photos and creating 13x19 portfolios with them.I've only used Epson ink with this printer and the results are great, I have steered toward A-Sub photo paper which has been ok for the most part, but it does have trouble reproducing accurate skin tones. For the highest color accuracy, you will want to stick with Epson photo paper.When I initially received the printer, it unfortunately died after printing off a few photos. After a quick troubleshooting process with Epson they decided to ship me a replacement. While it was a hassle dragging this thing around to get it shipped a replacement was sent out promptly and I've been very satisfied ever since.

MUST Buy Epson Ink
Great printer quality. I am very happy with how well it prints, yet, I rated this printer as a 1 star. Why? Glad you asked.No doubt about it, this printer prints well, but the issue I have is the highly overpriced ink. I didn't have too much of a problem at first, because I was able to reload my printer for $~60 using off brands. I had no issues with the off brand. The printer still printed well.My issue came, however, when Epson continually plagued my CPU and printer demanding that I update the software for the printer. Seemed odd to me, so I ignored it for a while, but I finally got annoyed and went ahead and updated the software. Immediately after the software updated, all my off brand ink Ink Level's went to 0 and the printer refused to print anything. Effectively, what appears to have happened, is Epson nags you until you install their software. Their software is simply an updated list of their Blacklisted products. If you happen to have any of that product in your printer, then suddenly you can't use it after an install. This forces you to spend $100+ for the Epson ink, which is an absurd price.This was my first and it will be my last Epson product. Never again. Epson, if you have to do cheap tricks to force people to buy your ink instead of competing with everyone else at a fair price, then your not worth my loyalty. I will put my money to someone else.Guess I will be buying a new printer here soon...might as well, since just a few fill-ups of Epson Ink would buy me a new device that doesn't require me to buy their ink.

First Printer didn't work
The first printer I received had an error message like the other reviewers. Amazon quickly sent me another but delayed me starting my project. Despite being rated for card-stock, mine was very thick and I had feeding difficulties resulting in each piece needing to be hand fed. The rollers also do not like to grab and quickly became dirty.On thinner card-stock the printer worked well. The quality of the print on card-stock was beautiful. I used these for my wedding invitations and people thought they were professionally done. So my moral, if you're planning on thick card-stock be prepared to spend a lot of time. For a regular project I was quite pleased. I felt the ink cartridges lasted a fair while and weren't outrageously expensive to replace since you only need to replace 1 out of 6 colors at time.I bought photo-paper but have yet to test. The printer does not have a touch screen.

Value = Price/Quality
I bought this to replace my Epson R2000. I am a professional photographer, but the market for high-quality prints is declining, so I decided against spending $1,100 to replace a printer that is no longer supported. I consider the X15000 a good value, but mostly because a refurbished unit cost me less than $250. The prints produced by the 15000 are satisfactory, but it is a dye, rather than an ink, printer, so the blacks are not as deep. On the positive side, the model has three features that prompted my original purchase of the R2000: It is wireless, it prints wide format, and it prints CDs. That said, it has some drawbacks. First, it is flimsy. If anything sticks (like a paper tray that won't retract), one can easily break it with even baby-strength pressure. Second, most of the controls are from a screen the size of a large postage stamp, and you have to jump through a lot of hoops complying with a lot of cryptic instructions to get it to do the simplest things--like retract the main paper tray upon shut-down.

Forever Epson
This is a Epson XP15000 oversize printer. It uses 6 ink cartridges and It can print 11 x 17” photographs and the quality of the prints are terrific. The Wi-Fi feature does work well. If you use Epson paper to print your photos with you can be assured of the longevity of your digital print as well as being a bit water resistant. If you use Epson ink with Epson paper, you will get a nice clean, bright print. If you choose to use other artistic paper or any off brand paper, you may not get the same results so you’ll have to work at it other than that I have always used Epson printers and I do believe that they are one of the more superior printers on the market for printing digital photographs and for the amount of money paid for an oversized printer it’s kind of hard to beat. Now if it had ink wells, instead of cartridges so you could refill it instead of replacing ink cartridges it would be perfect.
