Thanks thing is a lifesaver lol
So I bought this hoping to replace my sound bar remote since, it has an autosleep mode and every 15 minutes of no sound it turns off (which is a pain in the butt). So this makes me reach for the sound bar controller all the time.Little did I know, I ended up replacing my Projector remote also lol. It's cool that you're able to program any button to the buttons on the remote. The SideClick has 8 buttons. Power(which I use to replace my sound bar remote everytime to turn on and off lol), it has a PLUS and MINUS buttons(which I use to controll the volume on the sound bar), it has an ARROW UP and ARROW DOWN (which I use to navigate up and down on my projector 3D menu), it has an ENTER symbol button(which I use for the projector 3D menu), and it has an A and B buttons ( I use the A button to enter the 3D menu on the projector and the B button to go back). The SideClick fits perfectly on my Nvidia Shield TV Pro remote and it comes with the attachment for the battery operated remote too.The ONLY thing missing on the remote is an actual extra BACK symbol button (making it a 9 button remote instead of 8) because I ran into a problem. I had to remove my B BUTTON initial program which was for my projector settings and replace it to command BACK on the projector 3D menu. An extra BACK SYMBOL button would have helped me avoid that..... I guess the easiest solution if they don't add the button would be to erase the B SYMBOL on the remote print a BACK symbol on there. But adding that extra button would definitely be best <3Overall I'm very pleased with the purchase :))))

Works great for 2nd gen Shield!
I love this product! I already have a Sideclick that I use for my Roku, and other than the slightly loose fit, that one is amazing. There are mixed reports on whether or not the Sideclick for Shield works for the 2nd gen Shield TV remote - the one with the coin battery/non-rechargeable one. I can tell you that it definitely fits. In fact, the 2nd gen Shield remote adapter was the one that was already installed when I opened the package. I didn't even have to switch it out, like I did for my Roku version. It's very easy to program and was exactly what I was looking for. I've used/owned 2 different Logitech Harmony remotes and they have their place, especially if you're into voice control with Alexa/Google Assistant, but if you want something that is easy to setup and use (even for non-techies and kids) this is the way to go.My specific use case involves a projector and a surround sound receiver. While I was able to get this setup working with the Harmony remote, it was unreliable and sometimes required me to manually power off my projector because the Harmony remote would miss the required 2nd power button press. There are a couple of settings on the Harmony that you can fiddle with and try to make it work properly, but I could never get it to work reliably. With the Sideclick, I used the manufacturer's remote to program the power button to my projector and I can quickly click it twice to turn off the projector, which is very intuitive and easy. I programmed the + and - keys on the Sideclick to my surround sound receiver's volume and that's all there is to it. I now have an easy to use and intuitive remote that physically attaches to my Roku or Shield's remote.

Works fine with the coin cell batteries.
I'm not sure why they have the disclaimer saying this doesn't work on the remotes that use the coin cell batteries. It works just fine on mine. I have the 2017 Nvidia Shield tv gaming edition (game controller included) and am very happy with this add on to the remote. It's easily programmable to get working with your tv. I wanted an easy way to be able to switch between my tv's hdmi inputs, one going to the Shield and the other to my Ps4, and this fits the bill nicely. I programmed it to control the power button, volume buttons, hdmi source button, up/down arrows, and select button from my tv remote. Works great and now all my controls are on one remote versus to two I had to wrangle before. Great remote at a good price. I'm quite happy with the purchase.

Great product, but shouldn't be necessary.
I Like that it adds IR TV control where the Nvidia is lacking.I Like that it adds physical size to my annoyingly tiny Nvidia remote, which will totally disappear in my recliner.I Dislike that it does not have Left & Right buttons so I can move slide bars. I could program the A and B buttons to left /right, but I need them to access the "tools" and "menu" screens on my Samsung TV. With the available buttons, I can get there, but cannot move the slide bars to make adjustments. Two more buttons please....A high end system like Nvidia should have a universal remote. I know it is supposed to have IR, but it is so weak it won't control my Samsung from 8 ft away.

Fantastic!
It solved my issues with the NVIDIA Shield Gen 1 remote.1- My biggest problem is that I was always losing my remote in the couch crevices since the nvidia shield remote is so slim, no more with the sideclick because it adds volume!2- I hate to have more than one remote control this become 2 in 1.And also it was easy to program! This remote works with Gen 1 and Gen 2 it has both clips.I like it!

Ergonomics could be improved
Works as advertised to control those pesky IR devices (in my case soundbar). 4 stars because ergonomics are not great for Shield remote. The main circular button on top of Shield remote is hard to reach once this add-on is installed, I moved add-on all the way to the top which makes it a bit easier, however it's rather slippery and could use finger indents or some sort of silicone grips.

Works well - now I can find the remote
The Orig. nViDa Shield remote is so small and thin I would always have to search for it. It took a while to get it programmed, but once I did, works great. I have the first generation shield remote, where it doesn't control the volume on screen, so I got this and now I can adjust the volume from my AV receiver. Also I can switch inputs. I would buy this again.

Works great
This is so much better than having two remotes, or an aftermarket remote, and not using the shield volume control. Make sure you turn off the volume control on the shield remote once you setup the sideclick. The only thing that can make it better is if the sideclick wasnt so slick. Some kind of rubber coating would be great.
