Heating with Renewable Energy

Better for solar and radiant info, less for wood
I really like all the great information about radiant heating, and maybe someday I will have a solar hot water supplement. It's a huge book, but it doesn't have much detail on outdoor wood gassifiers, which is our new primary heat source. If you get the companion book "Modern Hydronic Heating", you will get just as much information on an outdoor wood boiler as you find in here, plus all the information to build an efficient and problem-free hot water system. If you're planning a solar or geothermal system, this is your book.

Great resource and pre-requisite to the author's online course.
This is a really deep dive into the subject and all related technologies. For my needs, this was to get informed on the underlying subject matter and determine if I want to invested in the actual course of the same title. The book is a required text, with a cost a fraction of the class. It makes a good preview to get a sense of the value. I expect to use this information as an owner/builder for a house in the near future. The author is clearly an expert in the field and brings working experience to the mix for the contractor or the avid DIY'er with technical background. Separates facts from industry buzz words and other misplaced expectations when considering implementing subject solutions.

Really Enjoying This Book
Really enjoying this book. It has a lot of detailed information, but the information is presented in a very understandable way, and it's well organized so you can look at the sections that are of most interest. It covers the basics but also the professional technical. I found the drawings of example system designs to be fascinating. Another plus is that the author delves into a wide variety of system options. For those in warmer climates, this book does address some cooling solutions as well, even though the title doesn't mention it. Highly recommended.

Fast delivery
The book arrived in 2 days - the seller is Forest City wholesale, and I'm in the Forest City, so it helps, but it pleasantly surprised me. It's as it was described, almost new (just some highlights, in parts I totally agree with the highlighting). Thorough volume on heating, hydronics, energy conservation, thermal sources. I'm very satisfied.
