Best in still water.
These are ok if the pool pump is not on. When the water is circulating and moving around these get scrunched up. I basically put them on in the evening just to help trap/keep the temperature from dropping too low with the cool night air. They do cover a rather large area which is nice but I just wish they held their shape better. I read another review whereas someone said they used clothes pins to connect them together. I have other solar floats and I did try to pin them to those but again, it did not help when the pool water was circulating. I'm going to see if I can rig something up for the corners and sides that will help them maintain their square shape better. I'll repost if/when I do that.

Air solar squares
Work pretty well but windy days or if the pump is running they do get tangled upIn each other a bit. Nice not to have to blow them up, and they seem sturdier than other solar rings. As far as durability, it is hard to know because they are all new this season

hit and miss.
These squares do raise the pool temperature about 2 degrees. What I didn't think of prior to purchase is that dust and leaves sit on top of the squares. They need to be taken out of the pool every so often and rinsed off. Also, the debris gets caught in between the squares, making it difficult to clean the pool. So far they are sturdy - no tears, etc.

Easy to use. Stand up to very windy conditions!
Easy to place in pool and take out to swim. Stand up to wind with NO PROBLEM. Our pool is located in a very open area on our farm where summertime thunder storms roll in frequently with gusts up to 40 mph. The winds have knocked over large umbrellas with cement-filled stands (weighing over 55 lbs) and even picked up lawn furniture which ended up in the pool but these solar blanket squares didn't even lift a corner. Yes, they will sometimes slide over onto each other and leave a gap. But I solved that with a simple wooden clothespin... just clip one to join two squares at a corner. You don't have to do it to all of them or to every corner. Definitely notice a difference in water temps. But the other reason we purchased them was to protect our pool liner in the shallow area and steps... since our pool has no shade, the sun was starting to fade the liner color.

The squares work great once you get through the one's that are defective out of the box and go through the return process. One out of two that I purchased had a defect in the seam...Taking on water within 24 hours of use. Suggest the manufacturer call NASA so as to get a better glue.

Terrible product, even worse SELLER!
DO NOT PURCHASE from this seller! They want to make you pay return postage for product that doesn't work! These solar panels DO NOT function in wind or pool with circulation. They collide and end up on top of one a other thus defeating the purpose. If it says you need 10 then u need 25 by time they are all stacked together. I will never purchase from this seller again! Good luck if you do! I contacted the seller to give them an opportunity to make it right and they blamed me for doing it wrong. U can either put the product with warning label up or warning label down which would be under the water and not see so any moron would know the warning goes up but still the seller said I must have placed it upside down because the product is not designed to collide and end up on top of eachother. Hence my request to return!

Good Product
I have bought 16 squares. I like the ease of them versus the solar cover. I did have a couple of squares that were taking on water. I went through the manufacturer (splash-a-round pools) and they took great care of me and honored the warranty. All in all I like the ease and safety of the squares!
