These 10 Sous Vide Magnets can be used during long Sous Vide cooks to keep bags underwater.

They keep the bags submerged
I wasn't sure how these tiny magnets would work at keeping the bags of food submerged in the joule. I use a stainless steel soup pot and these little things keep the bags firmly anchored to the side. You only need one magnet inside of the pot. (I wasn't sure if I would need to put one in and one out... but no, only one is needed.) I have not tried it on a plastic or glass container, which I imagine would require a magnet on each side. At any rate.... no more floating bags of food... no more hunting for something to weigh the food down. I can anchor the food to the side or bottom of the pot. My hammer was getting rusty being being used as an anchor under water so long. I don't even need to look for a large rock. I like that I can place the bags where I want them... and am not limited to hanging them from the side, wondering if they are deep enough. All in all, a good purchase.

Keeps food submerged, but the paint flakes off
So these work very well at keeping the food submerged, but the paint on the magnets are prone to flaking off and floating around the water bath.

works
Use these for my husband's sous vide. They do their job. Nice size, roughly the size of a quarter, good strength, they do their job. Do note that for larger sous vide containers, they hold bags to the side of the container, so you don't use up all the space, but great for small batches.

Even cooking and stops floating bags!
These work amazing for floating bags. I attach 2 to each corner and it works everytime to help make evenly cooked food. Only weird part is they are kind of half spray painted which was unnecessary.

Paint comes off
Nice strong magnets but the paint comes off polluting the water bath

Good tool with sous vide cooking.
I like the strength of the magnets. They easily attach through my stainless pot and it is simple to move the outside magnet to adjust the inside one.

Small, but strong magnets
Perfect for holding bags while using my sous vide. Extra plus: I use them to hold my calendar on my fridge when I’m not using them.

No longer a skeptic
I use the stainless steel inner pot from my pressure cooker for my sous vide water bath. I'm new to sous vide and have been double bagging and using my whole set of soup spoons to weight the outer bag. I have plenty of magnets at home, but they don't stick to the stainless steel—guess there's not enough iron in it. These magnets are strong enough to cling to each other right through the walls of the pot. In the photo, the left side shows one magnet securing a ziplock bag to the inside of the pot, while the right side shows the companion magnet on the outside of the pot. I have not yet tried this out IRL, but these magnets are made for sous vide cooking, so I'm assuming they work the same when wet—after all limpet mines were attached to ship hulls by magnets—and heated to sous vide temperatures. I'll update the review if that turns out not to be true. The set includes 12 magnets, more than enough for multiple items in the water bath at the same time.Because the magnets are so strong, I'll be keeping them away from my cell phone and my computer, as a precaution.Update: Be aware that the magnets, both inside and outside the container, may get too hot to handle. In order to get them positioned low on the pot, I attached them high up (just under the rim) and moved the inside magnet down the wall of the pot with a wooden spoon while holding on to the outside magnet. When the cooking was done, I had to remove the outside magnet with a potholder. They definitely get hot.

You need these for sous vide
I have been hesitant to buy these. I bought the ping pong balls and would put spoons on top of my food. It was a balancing act. If you do over night sous vide these are very helpful. With a metal pot they stick to the pot or you can do a two magnet system. They do get hot very quickly. These are very strong and did their job well!

Crasked after first use.
They are not coated and as a result after the first use three of them cracked. Next time I will spend a few extra dollars and get the plastic coated ones.

Much better than clips!
So much better than clips! No rusting and, most importantly, they keep the food from floating. I can position these lower in the water vs. clips that have to go on the edge of the vessel.

Works great so far
Works great so far. Magnets and strong, even holds through a rubbermaid container with the neoprene sleeve that you can buy for it. No signs of rust yet but has not been used extensively so will update in the future! Good buyUPDATE (6/10/19) : Magnets still hold well but some have broken and split.
