Inspirational reading! Whether you're like me... just an outdoors enthusiast who loves to learn or a full-on "prepper" Love It!
So I'm a 53 year old female. I've taught scuba diving for 25 years, my full-time career of choice for most of my adult life. But now... I fly a desk. I hung up my fins from teaching scuba and started my own swim school 8 years ago. Fast forward. Business is brisk! Life is good... maybe too good. I've put on extra weight and long to return to my much more fit and trim former self. Mind you, I still enjoy lots of outdoor pursuits! I ski, dive, mountain bike, kayak and camp throughout the year. Apparently it's not enough to stay in shape. I came across "SOS- How to survive" and was fascinated. I then discovered "Fat Guys in the woods" and was transfixed... not only on the myriad of survival skills presented but more so on the emotional journeys of personal growth. I too had become too sedentary. I felt inspired watching Creek's shows! Icouldn't get enough. I logged on to Amazon and ordered three books: "Build the Perfect Bug Out Bag" , "Build the perfect Bug Out Vehicle", and " 365 Survival Skills" . I finished the first in one afternoon. I'm certainly no "prepper" per say... I just love the outdoors!!As an active scuba diving instructor, swim instructor and life guard, I've always loved the idea of being prepared to handle life's "what-ifs". The skills presented in all three of these books are invaluable! Let's say you never have a need to actually "bug out"... so?? Nothing is lost! But the sense of peace and the sheer fun of learning the skills you would need in the event of a disaster?!? Priceless! Maybe I'll never need to utilize the vast majority of these skills and supplies. So what! It's an amazing thought to know I have these skills and supplies at the ready. I'm looking into taking Creek's survival skills week-long class! His books are written with as much humor, and heart as razor sharp expertise. Truly fun and inspiring books.

Creek's book is well worth the money in exchange for great ideas to set up your vehicle for the unexpected!
I have one criteria when buying non-fiction reference books of this type: Did I get at least one or two good ideas out of it that make the purchase price and time to read worth it? The answer on Creek's book is YES. I have a remote homestead where my wife and kids live. Depending on my job location, I may be 350 to 2,700 miles away. If I need to make it home quickly and air travel is not reasonable, I want to make sure my vehicle can make the trip and I have it properly supplied. Creek's book has caused me to seriously question my current setup (an older restored pickup truck set up for long distance travel over paved roads) and consider changing over to something more appropriate for long distance travel and 4WD/AWD capability. I also liked the sections on communications, tools and comments on accessory equipment. In short, a well maintained, reliable and more fuel efficient vehicle that can handle mild off road use and snow covered roads is now in the cards for me. Additionally, we are now planning to change over other family vehicles to meet a requirements list we've established in case my family needs to depart our home quickly. IMO, the book is well worth the money if you want to be preserve your mobility in an emergency event. Given the ratio of ideas gleaned vs. the price of the book, this author gets 5 stars.

Highly Recommended!
I'm a big fan of Creek Stewart and I really enjoy his written works. He does a very nice job at breaking concepts down and explaining them in ways that anyone (even someone who's never been outdoors) could understand. This book is only one of a few in the series, and I believe more volumes are in the works as well! I highly recommend these books for anyone that is getting into camping, hiking, wilderness survival, and prepping. These are great books to add to a growing collection.

Lots of common sense about outfitting a vehicle with helpful suggestions
Good information about types of Bug out vehicles and practical considerations when outfitting one. Much was common sense but if you aren't really a vehicle buff like me you will appreciate this basic from scratch approach. So is it worth getting if you are a gear head? ... maybe not. Is it worth getting if you are just getting into outfitting a vehicle for survival situations and don't already know everything about trucks? Yes. I think so.

Another great easy to understand and follow book
A great step by step book on preparing ones self in the event of any type of emergency evacuation plan by preparing your transport vehicle whatever you decide the type would be. Stewart gives many great ideas as well as options for the reader to decide for themselves as to what best fits the individual and their own personal needs and budget. I really appreciate all the links as you read to access directly items you can look up as you read so you can look up and possibly purchase or place items in a wish list for future purchase or reference later. Overall another great book. I have enjoyed three of his books so far. Really a wealth of information thanks again Creek Stewart.

Well thought out.
While I don't agree with everything Creek says in this book, he has written probably the most well thought out and comprehensive look at building a BOV that I've read in a long time. He analyzes many different aspects of what would be needed for a BOV and the uses. He acknowledges that each BOV will be different based on the users need. I enjoyed adding this to my resource list.

Good Info
This is a good buy. This is just not a build of his truck. It's a excellent read on the how's and why's of the build and other options you can do. Creek Stewart a true survivalist. It had a lot of good ideas to implement to even your daily driver.

Get Prepaired
This is great SHTF stuff ! ! ! Get ready and get prepared ! ! ! ... Your gone to need it ! ! ! This isn't going to do much for the city dwellers because there will be to much panic and traffic. But for the lessor populated areas it will give you an edge on keeping you and your family safe..

Buy this!
There are so many survival 101 books out there that it is a struggle to find something new and next level. Creek's book is fantastic to get your mind thinking about what you carry and how you will bug out.

Good Info but a little short
Mr Stewert provides some very good information in this book, however it could have been more helpful with other means of "Getting Out of Dodge" transportation methods. But overall I found it informative.

Roads may become jammed with broken down vehicles and become a magnet for ambushers and rouge law enforcment
I have never agreed with putting much into bug out vehicles. In a major SHTF situation like an EMP there will be no resupply of fuel and fuel stockpiles have limited shelf lives. I see major highways being jammed initially with traffic and later with vehicles run out of fuel, then gun fights between people for fuel and other supplies. There are about 35,000 law enforcement agencies in the United States and I think many of the will be acting under their own authority. I can see thousands of road blocks set up to check for firearms, food hording and undesirables (like you). I just don't believe people will get very far in a vehicle. The book does talk about bugging out via boat that may be viable depending on where you are.If you are traveling on small country roads, fire trails and following power lines then you are in a perfect location for ambush. Why should I buy an expensive bug out vehicle when I can take yours?Picture this: I bug out on foot at night with my normal bush walking gear, a .22LR rifle, a single box of ammo and a week's supply of food. You and the family are making your way down a dirt road just like the one on the cover of the book. You come to a fallen tree across the road. You get out, take your chain-saw and start removing the tree. You are almost finished when you fall forward (with a bullet in your head that I fired from my ambush position.) Your wife gets out to see what is wrong and I shoot her in the foot. I pick up your chainsaw and play "tag" with your kids. I ravage your wife but she is not very friendly. I tie her left ankle to a tree and her right ankle to the bull bar on my nice new bug out vehicle. Low range, reverse ... snap, crackle, pop ... horrible experiment! Don't try that at home. At least I bury the family together and nobody is going to report you missing because you have bugged out. I steal your ID and drive off in my new bug out vehicle being very careful of ambushes.

Too small A5 not A4, pages had a back ground print so not easy to read and the pictures were too small and in black and white, again difficult to really see. It needed to be more glossy ...with more pictures! But the information good so worth a look if you are a newbie prepper!
