The seam where the caster ball halves were fused together had a raised edge. After using the casters a couple weeks, I noticed groves or scratches in my hardwood floor. We sanded down the seam on each caster and reinstalled the casters. However, the floors are already damaged.

Ok so I have an expensive office chair & recently replace my carpet with super plush “silk strand” style carpeting. I didn’t want my casters ruining my new carpet & I dislike using the terrible plastic mats. So I replaced the casters on my chair.I was going to try those rollerblade style caters but those seem better suited for hard floors, I was scared that the minimal contact points would cut up my expensive carpet even worse than the original plastic ones.I chose these because they are made of what appears to be hard plastic or rubber. They have wide 2 inch contact points with the carpet that spread out the weight of the chair & my body over more surface area so they don’t tear up my carpet.In reality I would give these 4.5 stars because they are still a bit on the smaller side, I wish they were 3 or 4 inches. This would spread the weight out even more & allow them to roll better on my carpet. These do roll well with the empty chair but with my weight on the chair (180 lbs) it is more difficult to slide around but not impossible. So I slightly lift my body up when moving the chair to make sliding around easier.This is the best solution I have found thus far, I’ve had them for about 45 days & they dont seem to be harming my carpet, so I recommend these if you have super plush carpet & are trying to avoid using mats.

I bought these to install on a chair my wife had purchased for our desk. The chair is a very large presidential desk chair 9leathe & wood) for our presidential desk. The chair came used with no wheels. I had purchased these same type wheels for it from Home Depot, but did not realize that the wheels needed to be a screw-in type. After purchasing the ones from Home Depot for about $20.00 ($4.00 ea.) and went to install them they had 1/4" non-threaded insert type stem. So I put up with them falling out once in a while as I did not use that office very often. After having to use the office on a daily basis working remote now, I could not play the "insert the caster" games anymore. So further inspection revealed the chair needed 3/8" screw-in type. Home Depot did not have this type of wheel, so I went where everyone goes to find what they need, Amazon to the rescue. I received these a little slower than usual, but I believe everything is coming in slower now since the virus hit. When they arrived, I installed them with no problems. I wish I bought these a long time ago. I love this chair now. These wheels appear to be what should have been on it. The color and fit are perfect. They are as sturdy as the ones I had on it, but with a perfect fit. The color matches the upholstery tacks in the leather. Other than the price is a little more, I like them and will purchase again if the need should arise. Thank you seller.

Used these to replace a busted roller on my office chair. they look & work better than original. Could be designed better to facilitate easier & more secure installation. As stated in a previous review, the decorative nut used to screw the ball into the leg is WAY too small. luckily I have small hands, but still could not get it tight. Using a wrench or plyers is impossible. Should have a regular sized nut to secure ball into leg. Can't see it once installed.Also, those who said these work on carpet are dreaming. I don't have plush carpet, but still needed my plastic for easy rolling.

I have a 1940’s era desk chair that needed the wheels replaced. These coordinate with the style of the chair nicely and appear to be sturdy. I was able to use the prior sleeve to attach the casters so no need to drill new holes. Though there were similar items on amazon, I chose these to support American manufacturers

I was impressed with how well the casters were packaged. The personal note from the owners is a nice touch in today's world. The owners are earth conscious which was also appealing to me. Styrofoam packing is something I don't like to see. It's very hard to find a recycler. So far, the casters have functioned well. They support an item of minimal weight, but from the construction of the casters, I can see that they are capable of supporting much more. I would recommend these coasters.

I purchased these ball casters to replace a set of non-braking ball casters on my desk chair. This set Is attractive and seemed nicely made, but after a month or so of use - the stems on 2 casters are slightly bent. Looks like I am going to have to reinstall the original set of ball casters. Disappointed.

I was pleasantly surprised with these casters! They have very heavy solid metal cases easy rolling nylon wheels. They were easy to install and fit the antique farm table I refurbished perfectly! They were a little taller than the corroded solid brass wheels that were originally on the table and made it a perfect height for an island. The wheels roll smoothly and swivel 360 degrees. Very pleased with my purchase.
