The Boys' Doodle Book: Amazing Pictures to Complete and Create

Great gift and well received.

This was actually purchased as a gift for our neighbors 6yr old son but we read through it before giving it and it's such a fun and FUNNY book! The illustrations are great and I just love open ended coloring books in general. This one adds the element of humor to it, which is great...almost a bit like a comic book. I know the receiver of this loves it too as he shows us the book often when we see him and went through most of it almost as soon as he got it. That might be my one criticism...that I wish it were longer BUT the nice thing about it is that even though he has completed most pages, he still pulls it out to look at it and show it off, like a real book he created himself. This is a GREAT gift!By the way, while much of the themes are "boyish" this by no means is for boys only. My 5yr old daughter wanted one for herself!

My son (4) loves to draw and has really enjoyed this book. If he is read the direction he can draw a related picture and has been interested in all of the themes. He has no problem drawing with the current binding. No need for special binding etc. Unlike other reviewers, I view this as something to be consumed.Four **** instead of five however for the title directing this to boys, only. I am really annoyed by gendered toys but gendered art supplies are even worse. There is no reason why this couldn't be labeled "adventure doodles" and the "girl's" "fantasy doodles" or something. I know a little girl who would love this book but she can read now and gets sick of the boy/girl message. To quote her, "dinosaurs are for everybody." To quote me, "drawing books should be too."

These books are AWESOME. Purchased this for my 8 year old nephew and he loves it. Also purchased the Girls Doodle book and Beautiful Doodles for my 7 year old daughter and they too were VERY well received. I took another reviewers idea and took the books to Staples and had them spiral bound. That helped A LOT and it makes these a nice keepsake since the pages won't fall out as easily over time. I would give this series a 5 star review but the binding makes it a 4 star. They should sell this already spiral bound. I highly recommend these books for kids that like to draw even a little bit!

I bought this for me, and I'm a 26 year old girl. I bought it because I like to draw, though I'm not any kind of artist. I also have trouble thinking about what I want to draw, so I like the prompts. Upon seeing my pictures, my husband told me he didn't know how well I could draw!The binding is not ideal, but I just press it down very well when I start to draw. I'm not sure I'd like it to be spiral bound - then you end up resting your hand on top of it while you draw.I wish it didn't say "Boys Doodle Book" just because the writing prompts are dinosaurs, knights, cowboys, and space creatures... I think a lot of girls would find this more fun than the princesses and unicorns from the girls version.

This coloring book is fantastic because instead of just a picture to color .. it adds an area for your child to be creative too. For instances, one page might have a farm to color with Farmer John there, and in the space you would draw pictures of some animals that might live there. I gave these as gifts to friends kids for Christmas and I heard the kids loved them ! And then, since they are inexpensive I was able to purchase colored pens too. There's one book for boys and one for girls.

I originally got this for my 8 year old who lives to draw. His brother who is 6 stole it off him to draw in so I had to buy another. This is a must for anyone who likes to draw. It allows them to be super creative. Absolutely love!

My nine year old grandson loves this book! He has a creative mind, so this is perfect for him. I bought the girls doodle book as well, and accidentally posted that my grandson likes it but it should have stated my 11 year old granddaughter loves it! She gets excited about what she creates and takes it everywhere with her.

Lots of fun ideas and creative pictures to get the kids started. Big pages with lots of blank sections for their own pictures.
