Very Good Rice
If you care about the quality of the rice you make this is a very good choice. A little pricey but good.

Great-tasting rice compared to other brands. Got recommendation from a restaurant. Cooks up nicely.

Great Rice--and I got a "Free Bag!"
The rice is delicious and goes well with my cooked tofu. The Basmati rice is wrapped in plastic on the inside but the outside is like a burlap, and if you carefully cut the strings that keeps it shut, you can reuse the burlap bag!The rice is great and you get a "free" bag; you can't ask for much more!

(5 star to 1 star) They’ve gone to plastic))
The media could not be loaded. 1 Star. UPDATE: Forget everything I said below. This company has gone to the dark side. plastic packaging. Rice is rice so without the burlap packaging, forget this brand.———————————————-Rice is basic. You have to work hard to screw it up so I’d like to get out of the way that this is good quality, great tasting basmati rice.So why buy Bombay basmati rice? Because the burlap bag packaging tells me a lot about the company and that this is a company I want to support. We ALL know plastic is killing our world and ocean life because it’s unnatural and not biodegradable. (Plastic is NOT part of the circle of life.)But how many companies are doing something about it? We can’t do anything about the existing plastic, except stop buying it so they stop manufacturing it. (Maybe one day they will work on finding a way to biologically break it down).Meanwhile, We (the little people) wonder what one family can do that will make a difference? We can buy from sellers that use paper and other biodegradable packaging instead of plastic!.

Great rice, terrible packaging
First of all, I have to say that the rice is delicious and reasonably priced. My beef here is with the hysterically bad packaging. Yes, the burlap sack is cute and rustic. It's also a royal pain to get open and completely useless once you do. The main problem is that the stitching holding the bag closed is plentiful and considerably stronger than the bag itself. I couldn't remove it without creating a big gash, rendering the bag useless for storage. I wasted about ten minutes trying to salvage it and then just slashed it open and dumped the contents into a jar.

Works great in my Zojirushi rice cooker
I love the flavor of this rice. I've had a hard time finding rice that works well with my zojirushi rice cooker, but I've found the solution. First, I ignore the rice cooker's instructions. I put in 1 cup rice, 1.5 cups water, a little bit of salt, olive oil or butter, and whatever spices I want to add. I set the rice cooker to the "mixed" setting and press start. I don't pre-rinse the rice, but it comes out light and easy to fluff every time. Yes, I know how to make rice in a pot on my stovetop, but this is fool proof.

Great Value
Basmati is not an inexpensive rice. This is a good value, not too expensive and good quality. Better than buying smaller bags at the store. Enjoy it at home.

Its fine but should the brand be called 'Mumbai' now?
We would not be living in the world we live in now if it wasn't for the gift of rice!
