Maxpedition Gear Vesper Tactical Laptop Messenger Bag

This is a great bag for folks looking for an EDC messenger style bag. One of the primary features of the bag that gives it great versatility is the removable laptop sleeve. On so many other messenger style bags, the padded laptop area takes up a huge portion of the interior space rendering it almost useless for carrying anything but a few extra items. If you have a small frame you might find this bag a little on the large side.Construction - The bag itself is on par with what you've come to expect from Maxpedition; A+. The interior has a light colored grayish lining that makes it easy to find items in low light and the exterior is the same tough water resistant nylon with double stitching and reinforced stress points that we expect from a Maxpedition.Design - For a Maxpedition bag this is definitely minimalist, much like the Larkspur. There are only a few things I'd change about the bag that lean toward curiosities and are not outright detractors. First, I think a larger width strap would have been a better choice. The one inch thick strap feels anemic at best (Also, I'm not a fan of the plastic clip attachment system, though it seems durable and tough enough to last. At least it's not a buckle.). Second, The hook and loop in the rear compartment needs to be on both sides of the pocket. As for the luggage strap, I could take it or leave it. Maybe they could find a way to make that removable.Value - It's pricey, but worth the money when you've seen what the competition offers.Is this the best EDC bag out there overall? No. but for those that want a messenger style bag for EDC that can also carry a laptop, this is an excellent option. I've tried the Maxpedition Larkspur, the 5.11 Lima, and the Blackhawk! Covert Carry and this is far and above the most balanced and usefully designed messenger bag that i've found. Nearly perfect, highly recommended.

This is a solid bag, it's probably the best bag I have ever bought. All the materials are top notch. Very sturdy. There's a strap you can clip around your waist for extra security and comfort. The zippers seem very strong and the stitching is great. There's tons of room.Like many other reviewers I was immediately disappointed by the shoulder strap when I took it out of the bag. I thought after reading the reviews that I would be OK with it, but it's hard to underestimate how uncomfortable this narrow shoulder strap appears when you first pull this thing out of the packaging. The strap looks downright painful and comparing it to the shoulder strap on old bag I was replacing I almost wanted to return this bag, but I gave it a shot. Though the narrow, thin strap looks painful to wear, it turns out to never really be a problem for me. There is a wide shoulder pad you can slide around the shoulder strap that helps avoid discomfort. I do wish they had a wider and thicker strap for the shoulder, in fact I can't understand what they were thinking with this as it doesn't look right, but as I said it doesn't bother me while using the bag. The high quality on the rest of the bag more than make up for the shoulder strap.

It is well made and durable. However it is a little bulky for my taste. The strap that comes with it is WAY too thin (had to replace with my own 2inch strap)

Very nice and functional. My be a little on the casual side for the office but that is how I use it. Very happy with this product

Until I received this product, I loved Maxpedition gear. However this bag is poorly balanced and isn't made up to the same quality as the previous product I own. The strap is narrow and cheap and mine has the cloth handle at the top of the flap, not the same as the picture. The flap doesn't close well and the straps for the bottom buckles are way too short. If you load up the pockets on the front of the bag (under the flap) it will just tip over, there is no way to make it stand upright to load it. Some of the loops on the ends of the bag are already coming un-stitched. I don't recommend it, especially in light of the high price.

Outstanding piece of gear. The material is a bit stiff until you use the bag, but after it gets some use, it's flexible. Has a nice laptop pad case that is remove able and usable on its own. Pleanty of space and I would say just slightly larger than a standard laptop bag.

Outstanding product; completely protects my Macbook Pro and does it with style. All of the compartments and pockets are incredibly useful and versatile. The CNC back pocket is perfect!

As with all Maxpedition products, this bag is very high quality. I carry my iPad, a first aid kit, my Sub-Compact Beretta PX4 9mm, a few other things and my full size laptop when traveling. The shoulder strap and waist strap are perfectly designed for the load and comfort.

Great piece of kit, everything kept close to hand. Very comfortable to wear and the body strap keeps it nicely secured.

Great bag as with all Maxpedition gear. Arrived within less than 48hrs after I ordered it on Saturday evening.
