Stainless Steel Backsplash 30" x 36" 304#4 (Hemmed Edge)

What a bargain! I priced stainless back splashes both online, and at the local hardware stores, and this was the best deal I could find. I was a little apprehensive to order this online since I knew it would be difficult to return if it was disappointing quality, but took a chance and I am so glad. I literally saved HUNDREDS of dollars here.I'm not sure why this didn't get all five star reviews. I know one reviewer complained that it was too thin, but once you put it up it's impossible to tell the thickness. Frankly, the weight made it easier to handle and manipulate into place. Not so thin that it bent, but not so thick it was rigid and hard to handle.This stainless back splash might not be thick enough to take a serious beating in a commercial kitchen, but it's MORE than sufficient for most home kitchens.FAST shipping by this vendor for Amazon was a surprise with reasonable shipping costs. My order arrived in just two days, delivered by UPS in the morning, and packed in a strong, secure, reinforced box. Not a scratch or dent on it. This was in the middle of the Hurricane Sandy disaster.This was very easy to install. We used two screws at the bottom behind the gas stove where they didn't show, then used construction glue on the back to hold it in place.Looks gorgeous. Very pleased and highly recommend it for your kitchen remodel.

This back splash is perfect for the kitchen remodel w/o spending the few hundred that the big high end brands wanted for a back splash at this size.Tips measure 3 times and stick once.the way I installed this was to first make 4 tiny holes into the corners and then covered them with stainless steel blanks. Buy the correct construction adhesive for your wall (tile, hardiboard or sheet rock.)I took 1 star off because this material does scratch easy. Be careful. I had other SS that seemed harder to scratch.Overall for the price, you will not find a better back splash.

A couple problems with this product.1. The gauge is rather thin, a backsplash should be stronger.2. The brushing is oriented the wrong direction for my kitchen. This isn't really a problem with the product, but the description. The description doesn't let you know which way the brushing is oriented, so you have to guess. For my range I needed it mounted with the 36 inch edge running horizontally and the brushing to run horizontally also. This backsplash has the brushing running vertically when oriented as described above.Bottom line, I can't actually use it.

I ordered this backsplash just to lay behind my cooktop, covering the tiled backsplash. My tiled backsplash has been sealed but it still absorbs grease stains so I have been using 2 large flat cookie sheets to help with splattering. Well the cookie sheets did not look nice so I decided to order this hemmed edge brushed stainless steel backsplash. The backsplash looks beautiful even though I just have it laying against the tiled backsplash. It's very easy to clean just with a wet towel and dry with a microfiber. It is a little thinner than what I expected but I guess for people that actually put it on the wall as a backsplash it's fine. Looks very, very nice.

This is a 24 gauge hemmed sheet of 304 brushed stainless steel. Although I had assumed it would be 22 gauge, this seems perfectly adequate for a wall backsplash. Once installed, who cares, so why pay more? It came very well packaged in multiple, cleverly overlaid layers of thick cardboard, the good side covered with a layer of plastic. Short of someone forcefully pushing a knife through the cardboard, nothing could possibly happen to it. Once you peel off the plastic, you get a flawless brushed surface that looks great. It also came one day ahead of the scheduled delivery, i.e. within 3-4 days. Nice product, great service.

Per the seller's instructions in the question area I messaged them directly requesting the Stainless steel grain run on the horizontal and for the type that is magnetic. The seller responded "will do". The sheet I received was not magnetic and the grain runs vertically. #fail. Super bummer since I didn't catch all this until my contractor already installed it.

First off this piece of steel came wrapped in at least 2 inches of cardboard. The actual stainless steel was as thick as the steel my oven and range hoos were made of. The grain runs horizontal on the 30" side and the 1/2" hem really stiffens the sheet. This piece cost me less than 1/3 the price quoted to me by a local fab shop. This metal is best applied on a 30" standard oven and range hood.

Arrived in perfect shape (no scratches, dings etc.). It didn't stick very easily to the wall so I added stainless steel screws (I don't mind that look). I installed an 8" deep stainless shelf on top of it and it looks fantastic! Can't beat the price either.
