Where do you find a text book for under $5?Book looked in amazing condition. Small fold on cover…that’s it. Otherwise mint condition.

I have used this master text in my “New York Stories” course over and over. It is sine qua non.

This was a gift for a family friend who was visiting New York and fell in love with the city. Anyone who adores New York, who is literarily minded or both will love this comprehensive anthology of writing about the greatest city in the world. There are some unexpected entries here, but none fail to delight!

If you love New York City, you'll love this book. It's filled with essays, bits of memoirs and fiction by the most surprising people who wrote about New York. I expected writers from The New Yorker--but Fanny Kemble, Charles Dickens, James Fenimore Cooper, Maxim Gorky, José Marti? Started with a library book and fell in love, so I had to buy my own copy. The intro by Philip Lopate is truly wonderful. Great reading.

This book has some good parts. Other excerpts are dull but overall it 's a good read. It give you different sides of New York from other perspectives.
