UPGRADE 12'x16' Sun Shade Sail Rectangle Sand Outdoor UV Block Sail Shades for Patios Yard Backyard Pergola Garden

I live in Denver, and the sun is HOT! OK, the sun is always hot, but our back deck faces south, and gets beat with the sun. The space was basically unusable in the Summer. I either needed to build a roof $, or buy a low cost sun-shade. I chose the latter. This thing really is great! It really helps to cool the deck area, and make it usable. One surprise was that it does NOT completely block the sun, black-out. It still lets some light through. Translation: I still have to squint my eyes a bit under the deck at high noon since some light gets through, but it is a huge improvement on lowering the temp. Durability and stitching quality seem good, time will tell how it holds up. I wanted the cover and the ropes to stay high (to avoid lawnmower entanglements) as well so I built poles to elevate the outside edges - see attached pix.

Works perfect and shades my ac and back sliding doors. Very impressive addition to house for price.

decent looking and matches what the picture shows. I liked this one so much I took it down and replaced it with a 12x16 to cover the entire deck. The impressive part was the UV blockage. Have child that is highly sensitive to UV exposure. We have multiple monitors to track UV exposure and after testing it about a dozen times (because I simply couldn't believe it), the UV on the day we installed this was 6 in direct sunlight and under the canopy it registered as 0. Not 1 but 0. I thought the testers were broken but it registered the same 6 and 0 every time we tested it.

So far this sun shade has worked great. I have a brick house and the bricks really heat-up in the summer and my air conditioner struggles to keep the house cool, but with this sun shade covering my backyard deck the bricks are much cooler.The sun still passes through the material, but it really cuts down on the amount of heat and sunlight.I'd like to buy a second identical sun shade, just to double the thickness of the material and have even less sunlight, less heat passing through yet.

They should not call this a rectangle. The way it was described, I was expecting it to be much bigger than it was. It was off by inches in both directions. It didn't work for what we wanted to use it for. Be aware that they are going from farthest point to farthest point. Everywhere inbetween is much smaller. The fabric was nice, and it would be fine for some other area, other than the one we wanted it for.

this is better quality then the other one that I have. I plan to order a second one next summer.

Nice, Did not come with attachments to put up, went to Ace, went up nice and easy. Love it.

Great material and now I don't have to bake in the sun while sitting in my car port, I used this on the side of my car port and it works great.
