Bought this after reading through the reviews of a few puller kits, and as this one seemed to have the best ratio of positive to negative experiences, I decided to give it a go. Needed to press out a 97mm rear bearing on a Mercedes Vito van, so the kit had its work cut out for it! On first look, the quality of the pieces was surprisingly decent for the price…well finished, and nicely packaged. In use, the component pieces worked very well and were sufficiently robust to do the job…couple of turns with a long breaker bar got the bearing moving, and then wound it out the rest of the way with a long handled ratchet. Everything worked exactly as it should, with no issues apart from the washers being a little soft as others have mentioned…although despite being a bit marred from the nut, they would go again fine! As far as the main bolt thread quality is concerned, there isn’t a mark on it and all the threads are still perfect so I would be willing to bet the bad reviews of this component are down to the user ignoring the clear instructions to not use an impact gun…user error basically! Using hand tools as directed, it’s more than up to the task! For a home DIY spanner monkey, I’d happily recommend this set to anyone considering it…it’s a fraction of the price of a ‘professional’ version, but performs its task very well. 5 stars

I viewed changing the front wheel bearing on my Suzuki Swift with trepidation. The bearing had been in its housing for seventeen years and like most casual mechanics, I haven't access to a press.....the obvious tool for removing and fitting a new bearing. Therefore this was the reason for purchasing this kit. The kit comes in its own moulded plastic case and is quite heavy. There are many different sizes of collars and drive plates. The threaded spigot is substantial and the elongated nut requires a large spanner (not included) to pull or press the bearing into place. It's quite straightforward to use and good value for money for what you get. The only downside to its purchase is how many times does one change a wheel bearing? Whatever, I certainly couldn't have done the job without it.

The item worked perfectly to insert the new wheel bearing into both the knuckle and the axle hub. Ensure you grease everything before using the bearing puller to make the task as smooth as possible. I did not try the set to remove the wheel bearing because the circlip was absolutely impossible to remove, so I had to buy a new wheel knuckle, but the item looks very robust and not only a single-use tool set :) Read the instructions in order to set the plates properly; otherwise you might damage the new wheel bearing.

Needed to press out 2 very old bearings and press in new ones and hub. Never quite know how a purchase will turn out. This press was insanely good. Literally earned its money on the first bearing. Second one was a bonus. Very easy to use. Lots of sleeves and plates to choose from. Honestly blew my mind how well this worked.

The 4 sleeves included in the bearing puller need to be made of thicker metal. The thin walls make it difficult to centre and slides about under pressure, also the 2 threaded bars need to made of more substantial matal the threads on the bar were all ready showing signs of of giving up after only one use

I got this as I needed to replace my wheel bearings on my ATV. After reading some of the bad reviews I was very skeptical on this product but figured I would give it a try. Boy was I glad I did. This made removing and installing the wheel bearings so easy. This worked like a charm. Now it may be the way I'm using it but the only issue I am having or had was once I started installing the bearing and making sure it was going in straight it would seem to go off angle just a bit. Enough to know that the tightening of the bolt became harder so I would stop, remove and start again. Again this was probably something I was doing wrong. Overall the whole package seems very sturdy and well constructed. I would recommend.

This is a well-made, versatile set of wheel bearing bushings, adapters, and pressing tool that I got for about $30 less than a similar set I was considering from a discount tool retailer whose initials are "HF." I immediately put this set to work to press in a new front wheel bearing on a 2008 Honda Ridgeline. I first had to press the bearing into the steering knuckle, followed by pressing the wheel hub into the bearing. This set worked great and made the job easy! All of the components in the set appeared to be well finished and shipped with a protective layer of oil to avoid rust. The blow molded case is convenient and sturdy, and the tool components fit well in their designated slots. I also wanted to make a couple of points about issues other reviewers raised with this set: 1) Using the tool to press in a bearing ruined the threads on the screw -- The key to avoiding this problem is to lube the heck out of the screw each time you use it. I took no chances and used a generous amount of general purpose grease to lubricate the screw, and it showed no damage after the two pressing operations I described above. 2) The adapters and bushings have numbers instead of diameters stamped on them, making it more awkward to figure out what sizes you need for your particular vehicle -- This set comes with a small booklet provides instructions and diagrams for using it on common brands of vehicles. The diagrams include call-outs showing the bushing and adapter numbers you should use, which you can cross-reference with a diagram and parts list for the set on the last page of the booklet. This makes it easy to quickly pick out the right mix of bushings and adapters for your vehicle, and I don't feel it takes any longer than measuring and matching up diameters on your bearing and tool.

This product worked great. I wouldn't want do replace wheel bearings without it. I used it only once but it looks fine after the one use. I'm sure it will work for many uses. Great tool. I was attempting to use mu shop press and used this instead. It made it easy to replace a seized wheel bearing.

I used this set to successfully replace front wheel bearings on a 2008 honda Civic. It worked as expected. However the plastic case is pure garbage, very thin plastic wont allow you to securely close the case. It just folds the plastic over and will not lock. But I didn't buy it for the case. The press/ puller worked for me and saved me $1000 by doing the job myself.
