Solid electrical calculator
I've owned this calculator for more than ten years and, in general, it gives good results. No electrical calculator is going to replace a basic knowledge of electricity however, and if you haven't taken the time to learn some basics I suggest you do so. Also, when working with critical wiring such as a high amperage and wattage electrical heater, double check the result online so you can get input from an electrician. In these situations a wire size may be calculated to one size smaller than what is actually needed, so experience may guide you a higher gauge*. Remember, it is not enough to enter only the voltage and wattage, or voltage and amperage, to arrive at a correct answer. You need to enter the correct wire temperature, the length of the run and voltage drop to do an accurate calculation. You also need to be sure the material of the conductor (copper or aluminum) is properly set. For most operations on household wiring this would be single phase, 60 degrees. For things like heating units (electric heaters), the wire size should also be set at 125%.As for the other review of this device I can only say that the user is not well versed in the basics of electricity. The review is one long run-on sentence with a vague complaint that the user guide is printed in too small text for readability. That's not sufficient grounds to give this tool a one-star review. Also, Calculated Industries offers pdf files of all its calculators so they can be viewed online, saved to a tablet or printed in larger format should that be necessary.Personally, I have one cautionary point: be sure to keep the battery fresh. I have noticed that when a battery is failing (not dead), errors can be introduced. All the Calculated Industries calculators I own (Electricalc LT, Construction Master Pro and Construction Master IV) have common batteries that can be purchased nearly anywhere and are easily replaced.* (When I wired my house I used 12 gauge wire throughout, even though it legally required only 14 gauge. It's better to be safe than sorry when doing wiring. The wire will run cooler and be far less likely to cause a fire provided you do not put in a circuit breaker that is too high an amperage. In other words, you should use the same amperage breaker as is called for with 14 gauge wire.)

Professional electricians calculator basic model
The calculator itself appears to be a medium duty calculator, a basic calculator fashioned for specialty electrical functions, the calculator is not a heavy duty but it's pretty rugged for a medium duty, Calculator, it has a magnetic base that allows it to attach to the book folder, the calculator itself is pretty decent with basic functions and specialty functions and is priced fair at about $20-$25 they also give you a warranty repair service as long as you send in the card which is one year from the date of purchase basically if anything is damaged they will, replace the calculator or repair it for you for free, which I think is pretty fair, the only problem that I see is the users guide, or the instruction book the instruction book basically shows you how to use the calculator but I think the book should have been a little larger in print, because some people may have trouble reading small print, also I think there should have been more examples of hands-on type work, that is related to the calculator as example if somebody was trying to figure out a formula to decide what type,of wire should be put in a house they should show the actual wire and the calculations that go along with it and for why, based on my own personal experiences I believe that the instruction book could have been written a lot better than it was, as a matter fact they should have included options to purchase a better instructions book or a DVD that actually shows you how to use the calculator, or a website that you can go to and review a video that shows the calculator in actual working conditions being used, they do have a website [...] I haven't been to it yet but I'm not sure if it actually has what I am talking about in this review, also they should have options where people can also purchase software or some type of DVD that you can use with your laptop, I would personally prefer a DVD with all their calculator functions, so I could just use it on my laptop but it's a pretty good calculator for the price I would have given it more stars if the instructions book was written a little better, probably three stars.
