5 Minute Sand Timers - Mini

Bought this sand timer to use in the shower. It's waterproof, compact and does the job well!

The timers are such a great addition to my classroom. Great price for a 4-pack

very practical

They are probably not the most accurate timers but they work well for my child's teeth brushing routine. None of them were broken upon arrival and are very inexpensive, considering that you get 4 of them.

It's a sand timer, like the one in Wizard of Oz but smaller.Pretty accurate, but one of them did have a little sand traffic jam and I had to tap it on the table a couple of times.Besides timing small tasks like tooth brushing, I use these in a calm-down area in my elementary music classroom. Kids go sit under a table with a sheet over top and watch the sands of time. Helps kids calm down (unless they're just going in there because they're overly amused by the sands of time).Note: Many kids ignore the sand timer and do not come out after 3 minutes. This is more representative of the kids cheating the system than the timer's accuracy; I'm sure the timer is pretty accurate.Overall great buy. Cheapest 3 minute sand timer I could find on Amazon, and..... it's sand in a plastic funnel. Simple but works!

these work wonderfully as a replacement

I use them for my students to self-monitor small tasks. I’ve tested them against a digital timer and they are close enough for my purposes. Survived in a classroom for over a month, so I’d say they’re sturdy enough!

I bought these for a shower timer. The review is to discourage others in buying for a shower timer. These work well outside of the shower stall. All four were not equal in time, but close enough for most tasks. Back to shower use. Though the timer was above the shower spray (top edge of fiberglass stall), they would not work in the moist environment. It was almost as if the sand became wet enough to stop flowing. After the shower, I put it onto the bathroom counter top and it worked fine. Go figure. Physics? This was true for two others.For non-shower use, they are a very good price and seem fairly unbreakable as the glass hour glass is encased in plastic. I would keep them if I had a use for them, but because I used them in a non-advertised way, I decided to donate them instead of returning. It was my risk and not a defect of the timers.

I use these in my class for students who need short brain breaks. 5 minutes is just the right amount of time.

I get looks all the time at the gym. These are great in any situation when you don't want a timer that makes noise or is electronic.

Smaller than expected but works great, kids like it.
