Classroom Favorite
Realizing this was an adaptation of James Patterson's novels, I bought this series for my classroom library hoping that it would encourage some of my hesitant readers to open up a little bit to gradually reading more. I have various novels, manga, graphic novels, and books in-between for them to read---and this series is the most popular by far. My students get frustrated when they reach the last book and realize that they have to wait for the next to come out. Glad they like it!

Good teen books
My grandson It’s not a big reader, but loves the series. He requested these for his Christmas present. I know he has re-read the first two books.

Patterson writes for young adults, and doesn't dumb down for them. Got it for my grandson, but it was a good read for me.

A great buy for a great set of books
Bought this as one in a series for my granddaughter's birthday. She simply loves these books and they keep her reading over the summer months. A great buy for a great set of books. Great reads for all ages!!!

A bit confused, compared to the other volumes
Uhm... I didn't really understand what was going on here. The narration confused me and I kind of lost myself... Of course, I've never read the original novels and I won't read probably read them in the future so I may miss some of the details that will keep the plot moving.I'm still wondering about Dr. Martinez. What's her role in the whole series? Is she like a safe harbor where Max can rest and breathe for a little while, while thinking about her next move or is she something else entirely?OK, let's move to volume #6. Maybe things will get clearer.
