Been browsing for a mat that will be suitable for my baby as well as can be used in a long run. I'm so skeptical to buy this mat at first since, to be honest, it is expensive than most other play mats for babies. But based on reviews. I bought it anyway!!! I am so happy that I did!!!! My baby enjoys her tummy time. It is soft yet firm and easy to clean. Just hope it will last long. 😊😊

I started out with one of those traditional foam puzzle piece playmats for my baby that you find by the masses. Although it was cute, the design began to come off within only about a month’s time. I eventually decided to replace it with one that was a bit pricier and a different brand, until I saw some reviewers say that they too had designs that rubbed off. Then somehow I stumbled upon an article on non-toxic playmats and heard about Comfort Design. I loved the idea of a mat that wasn’t screaming baby, instead having a neutral, stylish design. This was a plus because the mat would be going in our living room, not in a playroom. I admit I was a bit hesitant to make such a big purchase sight unseen, as I am a very visual person and like to see things in the flesh before I buy them. But I could not have been happier with the look of the mat once it arrived. I love how much larger it is than what I had before. My baby has so much more room to play. The mat feels so absolutely cushiony on my knees and my bare feet, and it seems to always retain a coolness which I am sure that I will appreciate in the warmer months ahead. I will state that it is a bit slippery for babies who are new to crawling/standing, but if they are barefooted (which my son is all the time for sensory play) and bare-kneed then it really isn’t an issue. Ever since receiving this new mat I have been so much happier with our play space. I like that it is cushiony, durable, non-toxic, the design won’t rub off, and it is reversible (has the same design on the other side, but in a different color tone). My only complaint is that they need to offer design options on Amazon, instead of just one! However, I did luck out since the one that I wanted was the one that was sold on Amazon. Also, I wish they made these mats in multiple sizes because in the future I would consider purchasing another if we move in to a larger space. I can see using them in a children’s room, porch, basement, laundry room, kitchen, etc., even if just for foot comfort while doing daunting household chores! The last thing that I would like to add is that although I knew that I was going to purchase my Comfort Design mat through Amazon, to qualify for the free shipping and returns, I did have a few questions and contacted the company itself via their website. The customer service rep was so incredibly helpful, thorough, and speedy at replying, and even made some helpful suggestions. That type of service and care is hard to find anywhere these days, and certainly is refreshing to their fellow customer!

As a new mom, I’m in the over-researching, over-protective & over-analytical-ingredient-reading phase. I’m trying out this minimal parenting thing and this mat fits all my needs. I love and prefer multifunctional furniture, appliances- pretty much everything! I mean, who doesn’t love something that is beautiful AND functional (Ask me about my ABSOLUTE HATE for decorative pillows)?? Anyway, I have a 9 month old baby and this her crawling mat (zoom in to see crumbs and postpartum hair in the picture!) This mat was PERFECT for our family. It looks great, EASY to clean, non-toxic, & we could even use it for exercise (pshh)! I love the design and how soft the mat is. If I only had one wish about this mat though, I think it would be awesome if the company offered perhaps a thicker mat. These particular mats are 1/2in thick, and it would do great in a living or even a dining room but a 1 or 1.5 inch one would be optimal for exercise in my opinion. Anyway two thumbs up from this mom!

The appearance of this mat is very nice. It was well packaged and easy to unroll. The mat itself is covered in plastic on both sides (top and bottom) which makes it waterproof and really easy to wipe clean. Unfortunately, the plastic also slips on the smooth surface floor which could be a slipping hazard. So to make it work in my house, I placed the mat between the legs my loveseat and tv stand to help restrict the mat’s sliding movement forward and backward. Slippage from side to side is possible. The foam used to make this mat is less dense than the comfort kitchen mats sold in the local retail stores. So if I stand still on this mat, my feet will sink down to the hard floor making my feet less comfortable. I don’t think this mat comfortable enough to be worth buying again.

Update: it’s ovwr a year later and it looks like new still. Love it. The pets do too!We needed something for the living room that also doubles as the exercise room. We have stone floors which can be ouchy for playing, yoga, or push-ups. Along comes this floor mat. It is cushy and probably double the thickness of a regular yoga mat. Our puppy and dog wrestle loudly while playing on it and it shows no signs of wear after several months of rough play. It's comfortable for sitting on and perfect size for playing a game or doing yoga for 1 1/2 people. I plan on getting another as joining them together would allow a nice and big enough surface for 2 of us to do yoga in there or floor exercises. The best part is that the design is for grown ups!! I dont feel like the living room is for a toddler nor do I worry when one of the various muppets crawling in our house visits on it like I would with a rug--wipes right up!! Double sided so if needed it can flip over and has the same pattern. Excellent product and well made!!
