101 Monologues for Middle School Actors: Including Duologues and Triologues Paperback – September 1, 2008

My 5th grader takes it to drama class, preformes favorites for her friends, and uses particular monologues to explain to me how she is feeling.

Handy and arrived quickly, but most of them were too short to use in our forensics program.

Just what I was looking for my middle school theater class

The monologues in this book are certainly cute and harmless, but there are better books out there. The pieces in this book are too long, and they read like essays, not drama. There is nothing dramatic about a central idea supported by details.

I used many of these with a 6th grade performing arts exploratory class. The kids LOVED the choices especially the "duologues" and "triologues". I found them a wonderful resource for teaching perspective, as well.

I use this in my 6-8 grade classroom all of the time! The monologues are perfectly suited for the age group and are very enjoyable to watch over and over.

I'm in charge of a Middle School Drama club this year and thought that a monologue book would be a good addition to my other resoources. What a mistake. The book is really not high quality material. I found the stories to be inane, boring, ordinary and uninteresting. This is not something I would use with students. They are capable of more than this!

Excellent resource for beginning monologues. Great for class instruction as well as audition purposes.
