Mine doesn’t sit flush against all the holes as others have stated. I’m worried that I may jeopardize the structural integrity if I grind it down?

So this is a knockoff item…its not as sturdy as an oem type item. I had to buy hardened bolts due the the crap bolts and nuts that came with it. I currently wouldn't use the one I have for anything more than a bike rack. (Not strong enough for anything else) Modify at your own peril. BTW mine works for what I needed it for. (A bike rack) Good luck

Is this compatible with 2" outside width bike rack? The inside of the hitch receiver needs to be 2 1/2" to allow bike rack to slide in.

It’s the standard width for common 2” receiver hitches. It should fit your bike rack fine. I’ve used mine with several standard 2” receiver devices, all worked fine. It’s not machined very well so any imperfections on the rack “male” portion may have to get ground down to slide in properly. Also, DEFINITELY upgrade the bolts and washers as noted in several reviews. They will work loose otherwise.

This works. The OEM has a more slim line design and doesn’t stick out as much. I have never used the OEM and don’t have anything to compare it to. It depends on what you’re towing in regards to the nuts and bolts / hardness of the metal. Works just fine if you torque it done correctly. You do have to make sure it’s secured on straight though.
