Auto Express Kohler K341 16hp Engine Carburetor John Deere Tractor 316 Club Cadet 1600 1650

Delivery service was good. Item arrived properly packed and within only a couple of days of order. The carburetor is a good knock-off of the original Kohler. In my case I needed a carburetor for an Allis-Chalmers tractor with the same 16HP motor. I could tell from the pictures that the choke mechanism was wrong so I just moved the original choke to the new carburetor. This solved the incompatible activation issue. I used the original screws and some thread setting compound. I am hopeful this will keep screws from loosening but I will probably check them periodically. Now to the not so good issues. The main fuel input is supposed to be tapped to a 1/8 NPT. I don't know what they used but it wasn't 1/8 NPT. I initially some what forced the fitting into the hole. It fit and sort of tightened but when put into use it leaked. I pulled the carburetor and re-tapped the input with a 1/8NPT tap. I also used some Seals All on the threads and around the fitting. Unfortunately to tap the hole I needed to remove the bowl to assure no chips went into the carburetor. Repositioning the bowl gaskets is a best tricky and they seeped gasoline. I was able eventually to get them centered and they appear to have stopped leaking. I noted some earlier posts that pointed to the same issue with the input tapped hole so either this is a consistent issue or the people at the factory are not careful during tapping. So far the carburetor appears to work properly and with a bit of fine tuning to the engine, the engine is running well.

I took a chance on this one as a carb for my Massey Ferguson MF14, with a Kohler K321 14 hp engine. Unlike some others, my fuel fitting threaded in perfectly, no issues there. The choke is backwards to the factory carb, but this actually solved a clearance issue for me with a non-stock air cleaner assembly. It's easy enough to switch out the choke shaft from your old one, if need be. Fired up and ran great with minimal adjustments. The jetting may be slightly too rich, but this engine is better to run a bit rich rather than lean, as they can overheat if run too lean. Only issue I had was that the packaging might have been better. The carb arrived with a dent in the aluminum fuel bowl, I didn't bother complaining to the supplier, as I will eventually upgrade to an aftermarket steel bowl. ( very inexpensive). Overall, a very cost effective solution for my decrepit old carb, which was leaking fuel. At these prices, why bother with a carb kit and hours of fiddly-farting around?

If you know Kohler engines parts not so cheap I have a 1980,s 4500 watt generator throttle shaft broke install this carb the choke lever is hidden behind the air cleaner the original carb had a electric choke for this price I'll deal with it runs great

Had to swap choke lever from old carburetor for my application - John Deere 314 Garden Tractor. Seems to work OK. Having other engine issues which are making it difficult to keep the engine running and truly testing this carburetor.

I had my doubts for being a china carb, but it works great, only needed minor adjustments to the fuel air mix and it's good to go, fires right up every time and idles smoothly , this is on a k341 Kohler 16hp, you might need to transfer the choke if it's different and the fuel intake threads are metric, I just wrapped some Teflon around the old standard one and stripped it in, no leaks, no problems

While I had to make a few minor linkage changes, this fit my JD 300 with Kohler 16HP engine and worked very nicely.

Two of three air cleaner mounting holes had to be tapped. Choke arm was a different shape than original, but worked just fine. Throttle shaft on old carb was badly worn and this one made the Kohler run like new.

Worked great! Didn't have the right choke lever so I had to use the one off the old carb. No biggie just annoying.
