Product works but there are few things that we just didn't like
Product installation was easy, we have an older Genie garage door opener with the typical push button to open and this worked perfectly. Will try to do a complete review. This works with Alexa but the instructions could have been better (they assume you are not using smart life), if you go to the support page and read some of the questions they do tell you how to fix it. For us, we already use smart life and the instructions didn't tell you what to do if it's already enabled. To get this to work we had to break the current smart life link and relink the account then rediscover the device. From there it works with Alexa but wish it was more customizable, you have to say Alexa Garage on (for open) and off (for close), wish you could say open or close but just think of up/on and it doesn't take long to adjust. It took 15 minutes to install the system and over an hour to get it working with Alexa. You receive push messages when the door opens and closes which is a great security feature but for us they also push a message ever 10 minutes when the door is open (our downfall with the product), this becomes extremely annoying when you purposely leave your door open during the day. Would have been perfect if they allowed you to alter the notification time or just turn off the 10 minute notification. If not for this I would have given this a flat out 5 star rating. We were able to share this with other family members, no problems or issues with multiple people using this so this worked great. So far distance doesn't seem to mater, able to open and close the door miles from home, not dependant on wifi or bluetooth. The fencing feature needed a little work, at first I couldn't get it to work. If your phone has GPS then you can uss this feature to setup a distance for when the door automatically opens, miminal distance is 300 meters and they give you a google like map so you can see the radius (fence). Once again, there is a lack of instructions on using this feature but after playing with it and driving around the block a few times it finally just started working, not really sure what I did to make this happen. It now works everytime, when my car hits the fence radius the door automatically opens. Nice when I come up the hill and door is open :) I use samsung (android) so I'm sure results will vary depending upon phone and cell coverage in your area. Nice feature if everything works for you.The schedling feature works great, you can set a schedule up to automatically open/close your door. Can see this being a problem if you were to mistime when you walk outside to check the mail or do something and you don't have your phone on your side, could see a problem with the door closing on you so I would have a backup in place to get back into the house if you use this feature. For us, we set it up to automatically close at a certain time of night. Prevents that waking up in the middle of the night wondering if you forgot to close the door.Overall, we really like getting a push when the door opens/closes but we will be returning in hopes of getting a system that is a little more flexable to fit our needs, the biggest thing for us is we HATE the 10 minute warning every 10 minutes, it's ok for the first couple of times but after you receive it 10 times or more you just start ignoring all your push notifications so we had to turn off the push notifications which lost the thing we like most which was knowing when the door opens and closes. This is a great system if you always immediately close your door and this prodcut was very close to being a perfect score in my book.Note to seller, NOT everyone closes their door, sunny weekends, yard work, kids after school, etc. You need to rethink forcing people to use your 10 minute notification. Allow the user to change the notification period or just allow them to turn off push notifications just for the 10 minute period and you have nailed it.

Poor Documentation Ruins Good Products
I'm super disappointed to write this review. My first few days with the Witgarage device were great - then, for some reason, the device became registered as being "offline" and could only be operated while on the same WiFi network as the device, and even then only sporadically. This practically renders the device useless - I lose Wifi connectivity beyond 10 feet outside my garage. Even when I do manage to get in just the perfect spot, whether or not the device will respond is literally a 50/50 chance.I get this is likely an issue with the Witgarage servers, but given that the manufacturer hasn't invested in having an english-speaker write their technical support documents, I have no way to resolve that. I've tried every combination of unplugging the device and holding the button, but registering the device is either impossible or a crapshoot.

I would not recommend this unit
System wouldn’t connect to my wifi and the manufacturer support is weak. I sent it back immediately.

WitHstand is great.
Before buying this, I read all the the reviews and learned quite a bit before even buying it. This app uses smart life app to link to Alexa. If you already use this app to connect other devises, you'll have to disable the skill and re-enable the skill and chose WitGarage. Everything else is as directed.
